Introduction to Research Methodology_2
RESEARCH METHODOLOGY Introduction Research methodology entails the tools and techniques that have been selected andundertaken by the scholar for fulfilling the research objectives. Hence, it clearly presents theresearch approach, philosophy and other methods that have been selected by the researcher toaddress the issue (Research Methodology, 2017). Hence, research methods may be served as apathway which in turn provides direction to the scholar during the whole research or study. Inthis, methods and tools have been selected by the researcher in accordance with the issue whichis going to be investigated. Research type Qualitative and quantitative are the main two research types that can be selected by thescholar for resolving research problem in an effectual way. Qualitative may be defined as onewhich in turn helps in gaining deeper insight about the issue and thereby assists in developinghypothesis for the near future. Such research method is highly suitable when research conductsstudy on large sample size (What is the difference between qualitative research and quantitativeresearch?, 2017.). In this, unstructured data collection tools and techniques are undertaken bythe researcher with the aim to resolve issue more effectually. On the other side, quantitativetechnique is used by the researcher when sample size is large. Hence, in quantitative researchnumeric facts and figures are evaluated by the scholar to derive suitable outcome (Mackey andGass, 2015). Under this, highly structured techniques are undertaken by the researcher for datacollection and analysis. In the present study, to evaluate the extent to which women leadership isgrowing in UK qualitative investigation has been selected by the scholar. Hence, by makingassessment of qualitative facts researcher would be in position to present suitable pictureregarding the extent to which women have ability to contribute in the long term growth orsuccess. Research approachInductive and deductive are the main two research approaches that can be undertaken bythe scholar for analyzing the issue. Research approaches entail the manner by which researcher

should solve the problem or issue. Hence, researcher needs to keep in mind the type of whilemaking selection of research approach (Research approach, 2017). The rationale behind this, data collection, analysis as well as other tools and techniques are highly differing in accordancewith the research approach. Hence, inductive approach of research is undertaken by the scholarwhen qualitative investigation is undertaken. In this, researcher places emphasis on analyzingspecific pattern or hypothesis and thereby formulates new theory (Dunlap and et.al., 2016). Onthe other side, deductive approach is the one in which researcher makes focus on theconfirmation of hypothesis through the means of existing theoretical framework. Hence, in thepresent investigation, inductive approach has been selected by the researcher which in turnhighly suits to the qualitative investigation. Hence, new theory has been formulated by thescholar by analyzing the extent to which women has high level of leadership skills. Research philosophy In research, philosophies can be distinguished into two parts such as interpretivism andpositivism. Hence, philosophy of research assists in identifying the manner in which researchershould gather and analyze data about phenomenon or issue. Researcher needs to keep in mind thetype of investigation while making selection of philosophy (Choosing appropriate researchmethodologies, 2017). Moreover, in the case of failure, scholar would not become able to presentsuitable solution. The rationale behind this, data collection and analysis tool is highly based onthe type of philosophy selected by the researcher. Interprtetivism philosophy lays emphasis onthe analysis of data through the means of secondary data findings. On the other side, researcherundertakes positivism philosophy when there is a need to assess solution or outcome through themeans of quantitative data set. In this way, philosophy selection is highly get influenced fromresearch type such as qualitative and quantitative. Interpretivism philosophy has been selected by the researcher to analyze the extent towhich women leadership makes contribution in the organizational success. Philosophy that hasbeen selected by the researcher highly suits to the type of investigation carried out such asqualitative. Hence, outcome of issue has been presented by the researcher on the basis articlesanalyzed in relation to women leadership.
