INTRODUCTION TO SYSTEM DESIGN
Introduction
The development of the system and implementation of the effective design for developing the
operations of the organization is important for managing the flow of operations (Bharadwaj, et al.,
2013). The application development is an IT project and it requires the concept of effective project
management concerns and the development of the improved services for the deployment of the
functions. The use of advanced processing and development is formed for the integration of the
deployed tools and processes.
The following assignment has been based on the case study of Picoso which is a Mexican restaurant
and their need for the implication of the effective application system for providing services to their
customers. The report would evaluate the benefits of using mobile application for the operations of
Picoso. The application developed must incorporate the functions of the in house development and
alignment of the developed processing.
Topic 1: Comparative Benefit of Mobile Application over Web Based System
The mobile application system for Picoso would be helpful for easing the flow of operations and
development of the effective plan of functions. The mobile application development would help in
developing the effective operations of sales and processes for the activities of the operations and
development of the effective functions (Maier, et al., 2014). The customers would be able to order
effectively and Picoso would be eased in developing the operations. The benefits of using Mobile
Application over Web Based System are,
Faster Processes: The mobile based system for booking at Picoso is faster than web browser. The
mobile based system is prone to apply the effective and improved operation development for the
restaurant. The mobile applications are 1.5 time more effective than the normal web browser. It is
possible that the use of the mobile application would be convenient for the customers.
Personalized Content: The mobile application would help in developing personalized content for the
users and it would provide the ease of the selection of order from the menu. The personalized
content would provide users for getting immersive experience and use it often for their benefit
(Emms, et al., 2014). The mobile application clearly forms some preference and highlights them in the
suggestion list so that the users can easily select their order.
Instant Online/Offline Access: Mobile applications are effective for providing instant access (one tap)
for the users. Some of the mobile applications even work on offline mode so that the customers can
select the order from the menu. The menu can be stored in the mobile application and it would
provide the benefit of saving data for later use.
Add-on Features: The mobile applications would be helpful for the development of the effective
functions for the mobile device. The mobile device internal features like camera function for scan QR,
NFC, and bar codes can be used in the mobile application. Finger print scanner is a major security
function that can be used for payment via application for Picoso.
