Hypothesis a
Null hypothesis: Time spent by group of customers spending above the median spend is same as
the time spent by group of customers spending below the median spend.
Alternative hypothesis: Time spent by group of customers spending above the median spend is
significantly different from the time spent by group of customers spending below the median
spend.
Testing of the above stated hypothesis involve a two tailed test.
Hypothesis b
Null hypothesis: Attitude has no statistically significant relation with money spent by
customers.
Alternative hypothesis: Attitude has a statistically significant relation with money spent by
customers.
Testing of the above stated hypothesis involve a two tailed test.
Hypothesis c
Null hypothesis: Male customers spend exactly same amount of money as the female customer.
Alternative hypothesis: Spending by male customers is significantly different from the
spending by female.
Testing of the above stated hypothesis involve a two tailed test.

Question 3: List of statistical test
The statistical tests to be performed to test hypotheses for a, b, c, d are regression analysis
and independent sample t test. Of these, hypotheses for ‘a’ and ‘c’ are tested by independent
sample t test. Hypotheses for ‘b’ and ‘d’ are tested from the significance test of regression
coefficient.
