Project Blog
Week 1:
The first week was about selecting the topic. I was particularly very much excited as I was going
to work on a new and interesting project. On a topic that I was very much fond of and the topic was IOT.
Cars have always been my personal favorite and combining it with the IOT and I could not ask for
something better. In this week I learned about how to select topic, and how to create project site for blog
publication.
Week 2:
This week was about to put the learning acquired in the previous work into actual work. In this
week I completed the topic selection for the project. I chose a topic that I was very much fond of and the
topic was IOT. Cars have always been my personal favorite and combining it with the IOT and I could
not ask for something better.
Week 3:
This week was about the learning of conducting the actual project. Data collection is necessary for this
project and I learned this in this week. I have derived proper plan for collection of data for the project.
along with that I also learned data analysis techniques which will be helpful for conducting the project
and take project related decision.

Rationale
The industry of the internet of things is blooming at a fast rate. It is no longer a mere
scientific innovation. It is constantly finding a place in almost every industries where there is a
constant requirement for technical innovation (Cowdrey & Malekian, 2017). One such domain is
the automated vehicle industry where constant innovation is a major requirement. Hence, there is
lot scope of improvement and hence the domain is an attractive one for conducting project.
Problem domain
Although the scope of innovation and research is enormous in this field. However there
are several problems and challenges need to be considered while conducting the project for IOT
enabled automated car. One such challenge is the control of the car with sensors. The sensors are
highly sensitive in nature and if there is any interference in the received signal it will mislead the
car as the cars are controlled with the signal received by the sensors (Hossai, Shahjalal & Nuri,
2017). If the cars are misled due to this, it might lead to road accident. Cost management is
another major issues while doing the project.
Purpose and justification
The major reason for doing the project is not only the market demand, but it will require
best effort in terms of technical knowledge as well as an effective approach for managing
project. Another approach will be the reduction in the cost while maintaining the quality. If all of
these parameters are addressed well it will not only be profitable but will help the people to
cherish the power of IOT and what it can do in terms taking the consumer experience to a new
level (Papadopoulos et al., 2017).

The recommendation for the project will be that if proper effort is not put forward into
bringing the cost of the project to a accepted range, the project will not be so highly valuable and
will not be popular .these kind of technology is already being used in the cars, however still out
of the reach for so many consumer (Yousuf et al., 2016). Hence, if the project is to be
popularized in the market the cost of the manufacturing has to be brought down so that it
becomes accessible to a large section of the consumers.
Research Questions
RQ1: is the ethical issues of the automated car really impact the success of the invention?
RQ2: is the safety measures are necessary for processing of the artificial cars?

ï‚· Distance measuring sensors.
The components as mentioned will help to measure the distance automatically and also take
driving direction as per the programs. In order to provide safety measurements video camera has
been mounted in the back side of the car. This car also has GPS system, which help in tracking
the location of the car. Distance sensors also calculates the distance of the car from other
approaching cars.
Methodology
Research and Systems Development method(s)
The project belongs to a domain where fixed project plan will not be effective. It is due to
fact that the there is a possibility for variation in the scope as well as planning in the project
terms. In this kind of projects, agile method is likely to work since it address the variation in the
project scope as. It helps to divide the whole projects into iterations and thus helps to focus on
that particular iterations rather than focusing on the whole project. This kind of approach is
necessary for conducting such projects.
Ethical Issues
There are several ethical issues for the project making IOT enabled automated cars. There
might be several scenarios where there might be ethical dilemmas (Papadopoulos et al. , 2015).
The primary issue which might be accounted for the ethical dilemma is that who will be held
responsible if any accident occurs. Now it is obvious that the automated car not be hold account
for the accident. Then should the programmer be blamed for the error in the design or should it
be consider as the fault of the driver. Another instance is that who will get the priority when

there is a safety issue. Is it the owner of the car or the car should favor the people in the
surroundings while taking the safety measures. It is quite obvious that the distinction is not
possible in the case of an automated car. Hence, it is likely to create ethical issues for the
designer as well as for the manufacturer.
Compliance Requirements
There are several rules and regulations while considering the automotive car project. The
manufacturing process as well as execution of the final project should comply with those rules
and regulations (Solorio, Garcia-Bravo & Newell, 2018).
Collection of data:
The data collection method considered in this project will include primary as well as the
secondary data collection method. The primary data collection will study surveys, polls and the
secondary data collection. The primary data collection will focus mainly for getting consumer
viewpoints about the automated car while the secondary data collection will contain previous
collected data already taken for other related projects.
Analysis of data
The data collected for this project will be analyzed for taking several decision:

ï‚· What are the most possible reasons for the road accident
ï‚· What type of service the customer wants from the car
ï‚· Is the customers are really excited for the switch to the IOT enabled automated
