since 1960s. Most problem the farmers are experiencing will be solved by the use of IoT. Smart
agriculture is being used to donate the implementation of IoT in agriculture. He says that more
farmers are adopting smart agriculture IoT in the farming activities. From his research, the
number of IoT device installation is growing and by 2020 the installation may reach 75 million.
The IoT is also enhancing the market size. The market is expected to triple with the rate its
growing now. He urges farmers to use IoT in farming as there are a number of benefits for
incorporating IoT in farming.

First, with the implementation of IoT a lot of data will be collected. Research shows that
tons of data will be collected using smart agriculture sensors. The researchers says that the data
collected about weather conditions, crops growth progress, the cattle’s health and the soil
properties and quality is very useful. We know that data is stored in the network, is available to
be used by other farmers who could be in the same geographical location. Secondly, IoT will
help in controlling internal process therefore lowering the production risks. IoT will also help in
the reduction of cost management and reduce the waste products as the quality of the yields will
be enhanced. Finally, IoT and cloud computing will increase business efficiency for farmers. The
use of the smart devices will automate most of the activities involved in farming. The group of
researchers promise the farmers will also be in a position to reach wide markets and this will in
turn increase their profits.

major factor in farming. This is the reason why a farmer should be aware of the soil properties.
This include the soil salinity, the pH of the soil and the texture of the soil. They advise farmers to
use farming sensors. The soil moisture sensor is one of the devices for measuring the soil
properties. The moisture level of the soil is measured using the device. The sensor can be use in
places that require automation in watering. Research shows that the use of IoT and the
integration of the wireless sensors as mentioned above increased the production in farming. The
soil testing and monitoring is very important. It is true that farmers require much data to improve
the crop production. Research shows that the data is derived from the frequent monitoring of the
soil properties. The data could then be shared via cloud computing to other farmers. The data

From the research done, we can conclude by saying that the use of IoT and Cloud
Computing is necessary for all farmers. The farmers need to get much information as possible
about their farms. The information will enable the farmers to make the right decisions such as
what nutrients o add to the soil, the type of crops to plant on a certain period, and the amount to
irrigation necessary in a farm. The sensor to be used in the farms will enable automation in
farming which will in turn increase the production. If most farmers will use IoT and Cloud
