This article discusses the Enron scandal and how IT governance can be improved through recommendations for implementation and ethical decision making. It provides five recommendations for implementing revisions to IS governance, and discusses the importance of ethical decision making in the context of IT governance. The ISO/IEC 38500 standard for Corporate Governance of Information Technology is recommended for supporting the deployment of ethical, regulatory, and legal requirements for IT usage. The article also emphasizes the importance of aligning IT strategy with organizational objectives and current trends in IT.
