Balanced scorecard is the third phase in the cycle of IT Strategy and Strategic
Planning Process. This is usually a performance metric that is used for the purpose of
strategic management for identifying as well as improves numerous internal functions of a
specific business as well as their resulting outcomes that are external in nature (Bernard,
2011). A balanced scorecard can be utilized in order to measure as well as provide feedback
to various organizations. Data collection in this case is a crucial factor for providing
quantitative results because the data that has been gathered is generally interpreted by
managers as well as executives and then it is used to make good decisions for organization
(Akkermans& Van, 2018). The four areas that are also known as legs include growth and
learning, customers, business processes, finance and many more. The balanced scorecard is
utilized in order to attain certain initiatives, objectives, goals and measurements that occur
from some primary works of the business. Organizations would be able to identify factors
that are affecting performances of companies and then outline various changes that would be
made by them; these changes would be tracked by various future scorecards.
There are numerous IT frameworks that can be used by an organization; these
frameworks include COBIT, ITIL, TOGAF, CMMI-Dev. The framework that has been
selected for this assignment is ITIL. Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) is
a framework that has been designed in order to standardize the planning, selection, delivery
and maintenance of various IT services within a specific business (Hansen& Schaltegger,
2016). The main aim of ITIL is to improve the efficiency and then achieve a predictable
service delivery instead of only a backend support. The guidelines of ITIL can be aligned
with various departmental actions as well as expenses to the business needs and then change
