The design of the car can have a huge and direct impact on the logistics operations as the
design of the Land Rover defender is very specific, as the car posses an internal frame. As the
parts of the car in such a manner that they can be separately exported or imported. The
operations in India are conducted in the basis of collecting the raw materials from different
countries(Zimmer and et.al., 2017). For example the BIW parts are manufactured by Jaguar land
rover in the United Kingdom are assembled together t form a single body. After the parts of the
car collected together through the shipment it is fully painted. The different parts such as tyre,
bonnet and other together are supplied from different countries which impact in the logistics
operations of the company. In 2012, the Jaguar Land Rover extents its operation with china. The

company also uses 30 different ports of entry which are located in Europe. For the importers
markets, the cars are either handed over ports or land compounded. For the large markets,
vehicles are delivered to individual market ports entry allowing the effective regional
distribution. Almost 98 percent of the outbound volume is distributed through roll-on roll-off and
pure car carriers and for the remaining 8 percent the containers are used by the business

changing the method of shipment and without any change in the handling of the products. There

packaging is more concerned with the products that are able to discarded as often as associated
with lowering the cost of the product for the manufacturers. The expendable packaging is more
cost and is not useful for the manufacturers(Chan and et.al., 2019).
Benefits of the returnable packaging
 Plastic and metal packaging are made to carry signification weight and stack safely,
whereas cardboard is less durable.
 Returnable Metal packaging can often be stacked even higher and with more weight. It
often find that the end of the life cycle is not considered when contemplating packaging.
 Plastic packaging can be stacked 17-20 feet in a containers warehouse, with 1,500 lbs. in
each container.
 Products that can be reused many times and then recycled at the end of their life cycle are
more environmentally-friendly, which is a focus of our company.
