INTRODUCTION Communication skills are one of the crucial skills that needs to be enhanced by an individual. (Loewenstein and Mueller, 2016).In this report experience of effective communication has been determined in order to enhance work quality and performance. This report includes Driscoll’s model ofreflection that is helpful in demonstrating the overall process of communication improvement. Apart from this impact of working and communication on individual performance, behaviour as well as experience has been determined. MAIN BODY TASK 1 Experience of effective communication Communication is very important for a person to have effective communication as it helps in enhancing academic experience as well as conducting business task in more better and effective manner. It is essential for an individual to focus in developing communication skills as this will help in performing job activities as well as academic studies. Communication skills and capabilities has crucial impact on overall personality ofanindividual.Effectivecommunicationcanbedescribeasthecapabilityand potential of an individual to transfer message or though in very clear and precise manner. By developing communication skills a person is able to convey their thought and message very clearly. A communication is considered to be effective when sender has convey accurate message as well as receive has understand exactly what sender has send. While working in office it isvery important for an individual to have effective communication skills. This skills is very helpful for me as thought this I can convey my message or thoughts to everyone very creatively. In order to explain my expertise of effectivecommunicationinjobandprofessionaldevelopmentDriscoll’smodelof reflectionisused(Guan,XieandHuan,2018).Thismodelwillhelpsinclearly demonstrating the whole experience of effective communication along with the process of improvement in performance. Driscoll's Model of Reflectionmodel is developed in 1990 by Driscoll and the motive of developing this model is to provide a proper guidelines for effective reflection. 3
In model is based on three major what that will help in identified answers to different questions. Driscoll's model of reflection is used in order to demonstrate the experience ofeffectivecommunicationaswellastheprocessofdevelopingeffective communication.What –This is the first step in which the situation and the experience has been analysed (Sigalaand Chalkiti, 2015). In this what that the exact situation through which I was going has been analysed. I haveanalysed that the need of developing communication while I have to present business idea in to my senior person. In this situation requirement of effective communication has been identified in order to convey my thought appropriately. In that sanitation I was not able to communicate properly in presentation. My senior person has advised me to work on communication skills so that I can present ideas in better manner.So what –In this stage a proper analysis of situation has been done in order to identify the feeling during that incident or now.Thoughthissteptheimpactonsituationonpersoncanbeunderstandby determining their reactions. When I was fail to present business idea effectively at workplace I felt miserably as well as disappointed. I have worked really hard on business idea and due to ineffective communication I was not able to express idea clearly. I have taken feedback of senior positively and focus on my communication skills. That situation was very supportive in developing communication skills as well as improving my performance at work place.What now –This is the last stage of Driscoll’s modelandinthisstageproposedactionregardingtheincidentandsituationis determined (Brečkaand Červeňanská, 2016). This stage is helpful in analysing the effective of situation on individual as well as planning to perform betterin that situation is identified. I have worked hard and used different methods in order to improve my communicationskills.Thiswillleadtohavepositiveimpactonmyworkplace performance as well as helped me in gaining more confidence while communicating with others. By working in professional field I am able to develop variety of skills and capabilities that are helpful in meeting with personal and professional goals (Martinez, 2015). It has been determined that personal and professional development in possible by working or effective communication. Through this I have developed strong relations with co workers and senior managers. Communication skills as well as working as professionhasmajorinfluenceoverindividualperformance,behaviourandmy experience. In order to develop effective communication skill I have used various methods and approaches such as reading books, listening or watching videos on effective communication. All of these will lead to have impact on verbal and written communication(Nowackiand Bachnik,2016). Throughthis Iamabletoconduct businesstaskandactivitiesinmorebetterandeffectivemanner.Workingor communication practices has impact on my personality as well as behaviour. I have develop friendly and confident behaviour that is supportive in conveying message as well as influencing other. This has major impact on my performance in organisation as by develop effective communication I am able to give business presentation very creatively and innovatively (Fongand et.al., 2018). Due to this my overall working experienceasprofessionalhasbeenenhancedandIamabletocontribute appropriately in accomplishment of business objectives. So through my experience of working and communication I have determined that both of these two aspects play crucial role on overall growth and development of individual behaviour, performance as well as experience while working at work place. CONCLUSION From the above report it can be concluded that it is very important for an individual to work on communication skills as it has major role in improving performance. It has been identified that Driscoll’s model of reflection is one of the effective model that can be used for expressing individual experience as well as whole process of improvement. 5
