INTRODUCTION
Support workers are an important part of providing care to people and are able to
improve their quality in people’s life. Support workers assist person who are unable to live on
their own which is why support workers provide practical support person needs with emotional
support. There are various types of clients who need help of support workers which may include
people with physical disabilities, vulnerable elder people. The responsibilities of a support
worker at Langdon are very unique and it varies from other workers of health care in the
company because the people they support have unique needs. The wide range of tasks that are
challenging includes bed- making, cooking, cleaning and even the administrative tasks like bill
payments. This repost includes a reflective portfolio on leadership and teamwork.
MAIN BODY
Leadership and Team-working Styles
My company Langdon aims at offering skilled care to support people and achieve their
optimum start of health and well being and treat all people who work there with respect at all
times. The goal of company is also to support individual choices and personal decision-making
as the right of all members, staff and visitors, and treat them with dignity and respect at all times
(Motschnig, Ryback and Motschnig, 2016). So to achieve these goals the leadership style
followed by my leaders is Autocratic style. The leaders use this style to help my team to
overcome the challenges which are encountered by the support workers. The leaders are
autocratic were the hierarchy in my company was CEO to head of operations, mangers and
leaders, each one of them report to their above person. They try to encourage the work of my
team, they also pay attention to members’ relationships and also show their commitment. I
believe that my leader has autocratic style has he has individual control over all the decisions.
My leader sets the rules and milestones and work is carried on according to his choices based on
his ideas. He has been committed towards his work and ensures that we are working with more
efficiency (Klaic, Burtscher and Jonas, 2020).
To make my team effective, our leader has always worked on the team skills which help
us to work in proper manner. The qualities on which my leader works on the most are as follows:
Communication- My team has always taught to communicate in a clear, efficient way
which has been critical teamwork skill. When we work with others, we make sure that we
