Reflective Journal: Leadership
Leaders play an imperative role to accomplish the desired task of an individual that facilitates
the team for operating their activity and meet the specified objectives of the organization.
This reflective journal discusses the different skills and capabilities of leaders (Dunne, Aaron,
McDowell, Urban, & Geho, 2016). It also demonstrates how much leadership traits have
been imperative for operating their task. For enhancing my existing awareness, I used online
sources and implies many methods in which I collected feedbacks of an individual towards
my skills and improve my weakness effectively. This reflective report could also facilitate to
understand certain tools which will facilitate me to improve my skills and leads to get a
positive response (Storey, 2016).
A leader has used an effective leadership style in a team of people for operating their
specified business activity and supports to meet the organizational task. It will be vital in the
selection of ways by which the targeted goal will be met. I got different opportunities that
could be related to leadership. It is also examined the leadership has offered an effective
opportunity to me for reshaping my leadership journey as it was a big achievement for me
(Dunne, Aaron, McDowell, Urban, & Geho, 2016). I observed that leadership skills could
pleasure to conduct suitable behavior with different culture of people. It is evaluated that a
leader could be conferred with many responsibilities which needed to meet the research task
(Van Dierendonck, Stam, Boersma, De Windt, & Alkema, 2014). Furthermore, it can also be
illustrated that a project leader could be a vital part of any project as he/she leads each
member in one direction that will lead to obtaining the organization acts and sustain their
business in the marketplace. It is evaluated that a team leader of the could make trust between
employees and study that could be imperative in meeting the aim of the study (Silva, 2016).
Recently, I worked as a group member in the operational department. I lead 5 members of
people who are working in the team. Each member believes in me as I was the leader of that

group. At the time of working with those people, I observed many things that I never noticed
as before. I observed different kinds of skills named team leading, conflict management,
effective communication, and coordination (Gurdjian, Halbeisen, & Lane, 2014). These skills
are part of the organizational task. I lead each member in an effective way that supported to
me get higher competitive benefits. It is examined that my team leader can make a favorable
position of the organization among the specified stakeholders in increasing the investment in
our organization. It is examined that the team leader can also be accountable in conversing
with others and increase the possibilities of getting positive responses in favor of the
organizational image (Rosenbach, 2018).
I entailed many sources which are entailed by me to enhance my additional skills which will
be effective to make my position in the group named like conferences, special media, and
newspapers. It can be crucial in the completion of the company’s goal in desired sources. It is
also examined that such sources can be imperative for both internal as well as external
sources of the firm (Vohra, 2014). It can be could also offer an opportunity to the leader for
operating the specified task and reach the desired goal. I improved my many responsibilities
in getting higher competitive advantages (Petriglieri, & Petriglieri, 2015).
The core value of leadership
The core value of leadership has occurred in a specific situation. The team leader could
encourage and facilitate to others to differentiate their own lives for contributing in their
lives. Values could inform the use of leadership characteristics of the leadership are
stimulated developed, learned, and practiced for setting core values (Nanjundeswaraswamy &
Swamy, 2014). By concentrating on what an individual believe and then positively impact on
the attainment of the task. For solving any specific issue, an organization could consider
different factors named as respect, Integrity, Authenticity, courage, humanity, wisdom, and

making difference. These activities will lead to having the decision effectively (Marshall,
Coleman, & Reason, 2017).
Leadership journey
It is examined that my leadership journey was imperative in improving my career as well as
attainment of the organizational goal and support to meet the competitive advantages. It is
evaluated that when I was appointed as the leader of the firm then I confronted many issues
that create quite a complexity for me to attain my organizational task and meet my
organizational goal. It is evaluated that I faced many accountabilities at the time of leading
my team member to meet any specified task (Efferin, & Hartono, 2015). In this, I enhanced
my many skills which will permit me to obtain competitive advantages as well as retaining
my position in the team for long-term. I suffered from different issues of conflict that could
directly be affected by the performance of the organization (Collinson & Tourish, 2015). I
observed that each group of my team has a self-inspired and have a higher interest in the
accomplishment of the organizational task that was a big achievement for me and attainment
of the organizational task. It is stated that employee of the group is self-inspired that was
effective for me because it helps to me for easily solving the issues of the firm as well as
support to attain the aim of the study (Silva, 2016).
Furthermore, each employee of my group is self-motivated that is imperative in the
attainment of a specified target. At the time of leading the team member, I gained my
understanding of different kinds of leadership styles that supported to meet to imply any
leadership style in the working place and increase the followers. It will be effective for the
attainment of the organizational task in the least time and cost (Wang, Sui, Luthans, Wang, &
Wu, 2014).
I practiced my leadership styles which leads to me for getting the possible result in the favor
of the research matter. From the examination of transformational, transactional, autocratic,

and democratic leadership style, I observed the democratic leadership style is more preferred
by the team leader as it enables them to operate the business functions in one direction. This
style will be effective for the team leader to offers an equal opportunity employees for
increasing the participation in decision making procedure to give its best contribution (Wang,
Sui, Luthans, Wang, & Wu, 2014).
I used many ways to improve the overall process of the function and meet the aim of the
organization without giving any stress to the workforces. In this, I practiced a 360-degree
feedback tool and ensuring the performance of the workforces in improving the performance
of mine as well as employees (Ward, 2016).
From the application of this method, I was accountable for giving the feedback to the
workforces on their completed work as well as their activity for improving the business
functions and meeting the aim of the study effectively. Further, it is evaluated that this tool
could aid to the team leader to understand their weakness of each individual for making the
reliable conclusion effectively (Wang, Sui, Luthans, Wang, & Wu, 2014). It could be
evaluated that the performance appraisal tool could facilitate to the leader to comprehend the
actual situation of an individual and facilitates to meet an actual goal.
It could improve the retention level of workforces in the function of the business acts and
offer a suitable path to get higher competitive benefits. It is evaluated that a firm could
practice the inspirational technique as it inspires their workforces for improving the number
of workforces which could be an essential part of the leadership (Wu, Kwan, Yim, Chiu, &
He, 2015). I gave real feedback to my team members, which could be effective in timely
mangling the issues and supports to meet the aim of the study. I practiced effective theories
and methods of emotional intelligence which facilitates to improve my EI skills and listening
skills, which will lead to getting competitive advantages (Yıldız, Baştürk, & Boz, 2014).
Double loop learnings

I gained my understanding of the Double-loop learning that enables an individual to make
changes in the specified goals, and rules and regulation of decision making as per the
experience. The initial loop is practiced for the decision-making rules while the second loop
is required at the time of modification thus it is known as the double loop. It could shape the
skills of leadership and offers a better opportunity to get success.
Leadership development plan
It is stated that leadership can be an imperative tool to offers the best opportunity to improve
the capabilities of an individual and support to be a successful leader in the upcoming period.
This plan of leadership also improves my drawbacks as it could be associated with leadership
skills. The leadership development plan also facilitates to a leader to achieve their short as
well as long term goal in the available sources (Ghasabeh, Soosay, & Reaiche, 2015). It
could be imperative in meeting the specified aim of the team. I also observed that a leader
used the employee engagement, employee motivation, and job satisfaction tool and enhances
the interest of workforces in the specified work. It would also be effective for retaining each
employee in the working place for long terms. A leader could evaluate the needs and desires
of workforces could be identified by increasing the motivation level as it would affect the
overall productivity of the firm. A leader could evaluate the performance of each employee
and aware them about their actual performance for meeting organizational task.
I practiced the PIG model for declining the weakness of mine and support to meet the aim of
the study in the least time.
From the PIG personality test, it is founded that there are creation factors that might be
affected to an individual named as a realist, innovative, analytical, insecure, and listening. By
conducting this test, it is observed that I have a tendency to be positive and optimistic. This
characterizes could be in developing a favorable relationship with others. It could enable to
develop the leadership plan effectively. It is illustrated that an individual who is optimistic

Furthermore, it is examined that the leadership tool is imperative for communicating with
others that leads to meet the specified goal of mine. The positive behavior of mine could be
supported to make a happier life, as it could be without stress and imperative in the
obtainment of the company’s goal. It is evaluated that I am an extroverted person that expects
to best in each situation. An individual believes in the tradition as well as always remember
in the important dates. On the basis of test, it is stated that how much I am analytical and it is
founded that this characterizes could be imperative in the attainment of the organizational
task. From the data, it is also founded that I am insecure in the situation of change
management and uncertainty that could be affected the overall outcome of the research
outcome. Apart from that, it can be stated that the small ears could be demonstrated that I
have not listened to skills that affected the overall outcome of the study. I needed to improve
my listening skills could be affected by the overall organizational task. From the application
of this model, it is also founded that this model will be effective in examining the strengths
and weakness of mine that will support to make a reliable outcome. The outcome supported
to me to determine the different weakness of mine.
After the evaluation of my characteristics, I made an action plan to improve my leadership
skills. It will be directed to me to become a successful manager in the future. I observed that
the leadership plan will be effective for simply solving the issue and supported to meet the
objectives. Further, I worked hard to improve the performance of my skills which will be
effective in making effective planning with respect to the research matter. I would concrete
on enhancing my skills to create an effective in making positive culture. It could be
imperative in managing each task of mine.

imperative in making a reliable relationship with others and supports to get a positive result

From the application of this method, an individual could be capable to determine
characteristics that will be imperative for an individual to meet their goal. This model enables

enables the individual to entails approximate eight to twelve people to fill the online feedback

skills that affected to make trust among others for my self. It is examined that such skills
could also be imperative in my personal as well as professional life. I also observed that I
have a lack of emotional intelligence that affected my personality. I observed, I promptly
reacting on views and opinion of others without evaluating a situation that could be affected
my personal as well as professional life. I also observed that I have a less interpersonal skill
that affected to make relation with others. I also observed that I was talkative that could be
imperative to influence other as it is major characteristics because a talkative leader could
easily influence a huge number of people while an introverted or less talkative failed to do the
same. These characteristics could increase the possibilities of increasing the success of the

as negative aspect on which I need to work on it. It is also stated that I needed to improve my
listening, emotional intelligence, and interpersonal skills. For improving my skills, I could
give similar value to others that will be effective for others to make a reliable relationship. I
also attended many seminars, conferences, and other classes, which will lead to making a
reliable decision effectively. It is examined that my weakness could be improved by such
methods and reach at the reliable conclusion (Cook & Glass, 2014).
