Introduction
Leadership and management are important for organization as it suggest and
motivate to complete task in specified time period. Management refers
planning, organizing, directing and controlling for running business
activities smoothly. The presentation is all about classical management
theory, different organizational culture, role of leader and a manager who
helps to achieve goals.

Past Leadership
 In the past, Hilton used bureaucratic management approach or theory.
 It applied Power culture in past time that was difficult for organization to
make business decision because it is rigid that bounds employees.
 The management of Hilton hotel used Autocratic leadership style which
is rigid and decision taken by manager.

Present Leadership
The management of Hilton applied classical management theory, culture and
leadership style such as:
 In present, it is using administrative management theory.
 It is adopting task culture that is feasible for organization and employees.
 Democratic leadership style is using by Hilton's management that bring
changes with the permission of all employees.

Future Leadership
 In Hilton, management has decided to use Scientific classical
management theory in future to getting effective results.
 In culture, role culture will be better because management can assign
work according to employee's expertise.
 Democratic style will going to use by Hilton that will be suitable because
it will consider suggestion of all employees for particular problems and
will make effective decision.

Different Classical Management Theory
Classical management theory is considered as belief that states employees have only physical
and economical needs. It does not focus on social needs or job satisfaction that helps to
complete task with the efforts of employees. In Hilton hotel, manager focus on labour
specialization, centralised leadership and decision making that helps to increase
productivity.
Administrative theory: This theory is propounded by Henry Fayol that helps to make correct
design and management of company. The management of Hilton hotel attempts this theory
to find a rational way to design their hotel as a whole and introduce from digital
technology in order to influence customers. This is germinally used for formalised
administrative structure, division of labour, delegation of power and authority to
administrators for performing job roles. The manager of Hilton spread out their business in
different area by dividing employees, delegating power and give authorities that helps to
attracts customers. This theory is effective that can help to accomplish goals.

Scientific management theory –This theory was introduced by Taylor to set
business goals and find out the problems due to accomplishing goals. In
Hilton, managers can apply this theory that helps to work accordingly in
effective manner and complete goals.

Types of organisational culture by including
Handy's theory
Organization culture is related as systematic process that involves share value,
assumptions and beliefs that helps to understand perception and behaviour of
different people and sort out their problems. Handy has stated various culture
which is are as follows:
Power: This culture includes rule and regulation which is set by manager to provide
satisfaction and complete goals. In Hilton, manager can make decision as they have
power and authority to make single decision.
Role: The roles and responsibility of manager and leader are consider in this culture
that helps to perform business functions effectively. In Hilton, managers can assign
their role and responsibilities among employees according to their skills that helps
to make decision.

culture within organization. In Hilton, manager can adopt this culture that can help

Person: People are assets of company who helps to complete task and goals in

specified time. As manager of selected company assign task among employees
according to their skills that helps to adopt new technology in order to increase
productivity and attracts customers.

Role of leader and manager
Leader:
 Leader of Hilton play a role of motivator who motivates
employees for adopting digital technology and complete
task.
 Leader play a role of building morale in which manager
provide guidance and increase morale of employees (Role of
leader, 2019).

 The manager of Hilton play a role of Entrepreneur who
innovates ideas and bring new technology for increasing
sales.
 The another role play by manager that is controller that
helps to monitor and control business activities in order
to attain goals.

Specific management leadership style in
hospitality industry
Hilton hotel applied Democratic style in order to make right business decision
with the concern of all staff. By using this, it adopts new technology such
as Robotics delivery which influences customers. Managers of selected
company can bring improvements by accepting challenges.

Comparison of management and leadership style and
its merits and demerits
Democratic: Hilton hotel is using this style that helps to make business
decision with the permission of all employees. The manager of selected
company bring changes motivate employees for completing goals by using
new technology.
Merits: It helps to complete goals effectively by sharing information with all
employees.
Demerits: It may be risky because employees can share confidential
information with competitors.

Autocratic: Holiday inn is a hospitality industry whose management uses
this style which consider strict rules and regulations. In this, management
make single decision due to having power without sharing with anyone.
Merits: The management of Holiday inn keeps information confidential and
make instantly decision for organization welfare.
Demerits: It may create problems among employer and employees regarding
work.

Conclusion
From the above presentation it has been concluded that classical management
theory does not involve social needs which is important for organization. It
only cover physical and economy needs. Good management style helps to
complete goals in specified time and culture helps to make correct business
decision.
