Introduction
Leadership is an action in which leaders inspires, motivates as well as encourage
other members at workplace towards attaining goals. Management is a process of
managing along with controlling men, material, machine, method and money in
order to optimally utilise resources and achieve competitive advantage. This
presentation includes a detailed description about various classical management
theories, role of the leader along with different leadership styles in context to Wa-
Pila Hotels. It also includes review of management along with leadership styles
in relevance to selected business.

Different classical management theories
Classical management theories are related to personnels belief by considering
various needs such as physical, economic and so on.
Various classical management theories are as follows:
 Administrative theory: Such theory was propounded by Henry Fayol and is
based on departmentalization concept.
 Contingency management theory: This theory suggests that management
activities are contingent and are based on managers behaviours towards
particular situation.

Organizational culture
Organisational culture defines various ways in
which a personnel interacts with other
members and their behaviour with outsiders.
To identify various types of organisational
culture, Handy's theory is as elaborated:
Handy's theory: This theory was proposed
by Charles Handy . He further stated that an
organisational culture includes power culture,
task culture, role culture and person culture.

 Power culture: It is based on strong culture. As per this culture, there are few

 Role culture: This aspect is based on certain rules as well as regulations. It

Technology plays major role in influencing activities of leaders along with
