Introduction
The current assignment focuses on understanding briefly on the concept of leadership and
management in organization. The paper highlight the key attributes, characteristics and behavior
of leaders and managers in a company. In order to briefly understand and evaluate the concept
the paper focuses on two great leaders in the business world: Elon Musk and Steve Jobs. The
study further highlights key differences of leadership and management and how this approaches
are executed in the organizations effectively. It shows the key responsibilities of a manager to
use both the skills in the organization and evaluates the balance acquired between the demand of
management and the demand of leadership in accompany. This is demonstrated by using
mutually exclusive and mutually inclusive table. At last the paper shows how the study can
improve the leadership skill within an individual and work as a team in a workplace.

1. The different and similarity between Leadership and Management
1.1 The Concept of Effective Leadership
Leadership being one of the most rare and valuable traits in the world, in which people get
inspired and motivated to do something which is desired by the leader. The leaders are able to
make their vision into the vision of the general masses, they make their dreams into the dreams
of the people. As a leader cannot fool the people to follow him blindly, he must create and
should inspire people by examples which helps the people to trust (Whyte and Saunders, 2017).
Gaining the trust of the people is created when a leader takes the initiative of doing the thing by
himself (Smith, Lewis, and Tushman, 2016). A leader needs to make some of the hard decision
in its life, which are difficult for any individual to do but in the end would inspire people to see
the traits of a leader. Communication of thoughts and ideology is one of the important
characteristic of a leader. This being an important characteristic as the seed of the leader vision
should be in the brains of the general followers. Thus the followers can see the way their leader
is seeing things. Leaders can be creating vision which are good or bad, but they are leaders as
they can make their followers trust them in their endeavors.
Management skills can be present in a leader or maybe absent in the leader, but management
of people also requires its own specific set of skills (Harries 2017). Management although being
a process which is focused on completing a specific set of objectives. The manager in a
department would be focused on completing its targets and goals for a specific period in due
time. There would be many set of leaders under the manager of that department who inspire and
motivate their team for the completion of the objectives (Chiu, C.Y.C., Balkundi and Weinberg,
2017). A manager is bound to complete these objectives, under various policies and procedures
