LEADERSHIP2Question 1: what leadership errors did Cheryl make to get into this mess?Cheryl is a dedicated leader who commits a lot of her time to initiate changes in her workplace. Nevertheless, it is very clear from the case study that not all stakeholders are in support of her recommendation. As a good leader, she ought to have collected necessary information from different stakeholders so as to determine the main reasons as to why they failed to support her recommendation (Secker 2010). The leadership error that Cheryl did id failure to consult necessary stakeholders on her recommendations on change. Leadership requires analysis of different opinions before making decisions on which path to follow. Cheryl has working experience with different companies. She however not able to handle her authoritative nature of leadership so as to incorporate ideas suggested by other stakeholders. She mentioned in the conversation that her decision will be final. The other stakeholders will be required to follow the decisions that will be agreed upon after her presentation. Question 2: what exactly is her mess?The exact mess that Cheryl did is initiating a program behind the back of key stakeholders of the company. As a reliable leader, it is important to do proper analysis by collecting necessary opinions on what needs to be done. Being overconfident about her presentation is a good indicator that Cheryl is not ready to take any advice from anybody (Reece and Walker 2007). It is a good indicator that her decision is final. She finds herself in a mess of what may come out after her presentation. Lack of full support from other stakeholders may result in poor judgment and decision making. A good leader should consider what other staffs in the organization understand on a particular issue. Work experience is important so as to assist an individual to reflect on all possible ways required to arrive at an appropriate decision.Question 3: what leadership does she need to demonstrate now to move forward?Good leadership is ready to consult all stakeholders without undermining their recommendations.These stakeholders may be correct and on the other hand, Cheryl may be wrong. For her presentation to be accepted by all stakeholders, then she needs to incorporate all the ideas suggested by them. Good leaders have the ability to listen and then decide on the most appropriate path to follow. Cheryl should use the advantage of her work experience to solve the mess she is facing at the moment. It is also indicated that the other stakeholders are experiencing
