CHAPTER-1 INTRODUCTION Rationale Change management is one of the important aspect with refer to every sector organization. Likewise, it plays an important role in the sector of retail industry. With the aspect of change management not only the organizations would be assisted towards meeting the changes but at the same time it will also assist the organization to meet the customer expectation (Dzwigol and et.al.,2019).Thisisbecausewiththeaspectofchangesintermsofglobalizationand technological changes in the retailing sector it is important for the companies that they can make implement those changes so that not only the customer need will be satisfied but at the same time would also assist the organization to gain competitive advantages. With the aspect of leadership, it would be easy for the organization to make implementation of change management within the organization (Galli, 2018). This is because with the aspect of leadership and influence it would be made easy for the organization that they can make agree the employees to accept the changes. This will lead to have an easy acceptance of changes and its execution. In the same way it is also important that the organization would adopt the most appropriate leadership style so that changes in the organization would be easily implemented (Oc, 2018). Morrison is one of the famous retailing company of UK that make adaption of change management as per the requirement so that necessary changes will be brought as per the market competition and customer need. Morrison was founded in 1899 and its main mission to make performance of things in its own way with the creation of great customer experience. This research will focus over the aspect that how with effective leadership the change management would be implemented within an organization. This research will also assist the other researcher that how the concept of leadership would execute change management in an organization.Likewise,throughthisresearchtherelationshipofleadershipwithchange management would also be acknowledged. CHAPTER-2 PRELIMINARY LITERATURE REVIEW Concept of leadership: As per the views ofRudolph, Rauvola and Zacher, (2018)leadership can be defined as a process that would assist the organization to implement changes with the aspect of strong influential power of leader. With the aspect of influence of leader, the individual employee and its goal will be integrated towards the goal of the company. Leadership is an important concept that would lead to assist the organization in the accomplishment of its aim with the integration of individual efforts towards it. Ospina and et.al., (2020)also states that with the aspect of leadership organization will be assisted towards to implement co-ordination and other changes in an organization. It will lead to inspire and motivate the employees so that changes will be made accordingly. In the same through the aspect of leadership employees will be enabled guidance and direction that in which manner they need to take action. Concept of change management: In accordance with the views ofJayatilleke and Lai, (2018)change management refers to a method or process through which an organization would describe and execute changes in an organization. In the same way leadership lead to motivate the employees and get them involved. This means with the aspect of leadership employees will be motivated and initiated that they can accept the change. Leadership would be counted as a base that would lead to assist the company in brining and executing changes because it will make the employees and people to get involved along with making an integration of their efforts towards the team goal and work. However, on the opposite noteAl-Ali and et.al., (2017)state that with the aspect of leadership only an influence is created but at the time of its practical implication of changes it will not work because of the changing situation and uncertain environment. This means the employees would not be ready to agree the changes which would take place randomly. In the same way with the adoption of wrong mode of leadership like autocratic under which power is hold by only leader the implication of change management would become very difficult. This is because with the aspect of leadership it would be easy for an organization to bring changes because leadership along with motivating the employees also assist their involvement. And when employees will be involved and they would know the value and importance of such changes then it would be very easy for an organization to introduce and lead the changes in its operation and execution. Thus leadership bring employees assistance which would make it easy for the organization to implement change management. In the same wayHalkias and et.al., (2017)also said a leader with the use of its leadership skills including communication, influence, motivation, inspiration and various other would lead to play an important role towards implementing and introducing change in the organization. A leader would assist the employees regarding the importance and urgency of change towards the organization and its working and thus motivate the employees to accept and support the change.

Likewise, shortage of funds is also a major challenge that the company may face with the aspect of change management. This is because a lot of fund would be required by the company in order to make an implementation of changes. Lack of adequate personnel and other equipment would be counted as a challenge with respect to brining of changes and its execution. Pasmore and et.al., (2019)also states that the organization would also face challenge in terms of conflicts, lack of communication, lack of adequate culture, an d various other. This would lead to resist the change and may bring challenge towards the change implementation. With the aspect of adverse work culture, no change would be able to introduced. In the same way during the execution of change the company face the challenge of conflicts because of the involvement of large number of employees and their individual views. Communication error or lack of adequate communication would also lead to act as resistance and barrier towards the change management. In the same way lack of customer support with uncertainty in demand and changing taste and preferences of the customer would lead to act as challenge towards the company and may restrict the change management process in terms of its execution. CHAPTER-3 METHODOLOGY Research methodology This is an important aspect with reference to the research. It includes the method through which the research will be performed. There are majorly two methodologies that may include qualitative and quantitative. Quantitate method is related with the study of numeric fact and figures while qualitative research is the study of non-numeric data (Aspers and Corte, 2019). The proposed research will be made on qualitative methodology so that an in-depth analysis of the
concept of leadership towards change management will be implied. This will lead to make a detailed study. However, it bears the limitation of subjectivity, rigidity and time aspect. Sampling This is also an important aspect that is related with the research. A sample is a group of people that represent the same characteristics which is being possessed by the entire population (Etikan and Bala, 2017). With the aspect of sampling the in the proposed research the simple random sampling will be adopted so that the participant from the large subset and population will be chosen at a random basis. The proposed research will be made with a sample of 30 employees of the managerial level of Morrison so that the aspect of change management with regard to the leadership would be analysed adequately. This would lead to have easy access to sample but its result would not be counted as 100% valid because of random selection. Data collection method: This is also an important aspect with regard to the research. the data will be collected from the two sources that may include the primary and secondary sources. The primary data is directly collect from the source and it is one of the most authentic source of data (Johnston, 2017). However, the secondary data is collected refers to that data which is already being collected. the proposed research would have an inculcation of both the primary and the secondary sources so that the research would be able to get performed in a detailed manner. However, with the adoption of both the method the time and cost will be raised. Data analysis methods Data analysis refers to the analysis of the data. It can be performed mainly by two modes including the thematic analysis or through SPSS. With respect to the proposed research the thematic test will be chosen so that with the aspect of making themes regarding the concept a detailed analysis of the data would be made. With this test the in-depth analysis of leadership in relation with change management would be studied. However, with this test only the non- numeric data would be able to get analysed,

Ethical considerations This is also an important aspect with regard to research. This is because with the aspect of ethical consideration the research would be made more valid and authenticate.
