Mentor Review
A mentor is an individual who is responsible for shaping up one’s personality and
enhance the development of the particular characteristics of a person through professional
guidance. One can achieve a renowned career and develop beneficial qualities for gaining a
resourceful life.
In my life, I consider my parents to be my first set of mentors. As a mentor, they
possesses all the qualities to guide me through my student life, mainly during my teenage
days. They were quite enthusiastic in their role and continuously supported me for all my
activities regarding studies. Apart from guiding me with efficient techniques in completing
my syllabus and excelling my assessments, they encouraged me for co-curricular activities.
They believed one needs to be exposed to different activities so that he can select his major
area of interest and pursue their career in that sector (Hernandez et al., 2017). Hence, they
encouraged me for participating in sports, programs, debates, quiz competitions as well as
continue my studies effortlessly.
The primary attribute that I gained from performing all these activities is time management
(Schatz-Oppenheimer, 2017). I could plan all my activities throughout the day and
accomplish them in an orderly sequence thus completing all my tasks efficiently within time.
Moreover, my parents taught me the importance of discipline in life. A person in order to
achieve success in life should maintain discipline in all his activities. Hence, they advised me
to be disciplined before setting the goal of my life. They did not support any of my
wrongdoings and explained me in details where should I correct myself in order to mould my
personality like that of a good human being.
The second set of mentors of my life are my teachers from school who contributed
much in shaping up my career. Dependability is one of the major attributes of an excellent
