There may be several other factors like organizational and industryhistory, political agendas and economic stability that may influence the health outcome of anorganization; however, it is leadership that has been considered as the most important.Efficient leadership in the clinical setting is reflected in the lowering in the number of patientcomplaints and enhancement in the care of the patients. Clinical leadership is important notjust managing the healthcare system in an efficient manner but also to retain the nurses, thelatter representing an important stakeholder of the healthcare system (Nelsey & Brownie,2012). Leaders who are great at managing the nurses ensure that there is reduction in theturnover of the nursing staff. It has been found that efficient nurse managers lead to a culturewhere the nurses are contended with their workplace and show competent conflict resolutionqualities.. Considering the importance of leadership in clinical setting, a robust approachneeds to be adopted in preparing the clinicians for becoming leaders rather assigning cliniciansin the management roles. In the contemporary situation, it can be witnessed that cliniciansare visible in the managerial role. However, inspiring clinicians to participate in informed,ethical and visionary decision-making should be the penultimate purpose of clinicalleadership. The core value of leadership would be to influence the peer group to developskills and deliver their best performance.
