concerned with work-life balance. The main aim of Mark Zuckerberg is to maintain work-life
balance as he believes that employees can give their best if the work-life balance is present.
Through effective leadership skills, Mark Zuckerberg attains growth and success. Facebook has
achieved growth and success in the competitive market just due to the right guidance given by
him to its employees. Just due to effective leadership he is able to manage the conflicts and
issues and also he focuses on boosting the motivation level of the employees (Hoffmann,
Proferes and Zimmer, 2018).
But it has been examined that Jeff Bezos is also the popular leader, who is also the inspiration of
other people. He is an American entrepreneur, investor and Philanthropist. He is known as the
CEO of Amazon and he has a major role in boosting the growth of the company in the highly
competitive market. He was born on January 12, 1964, in New Mexico and also founded
Amazon in 1994. It can be analyzed that the company started its business from the online
bookstore and now the company is one of the largest online selling brand (Nisen, 2019). The
leadership style followed by him is unique and different as the main emphasis given by him is on
the customers. The customers are considered as the king. Also, he has a high expectation from
the employees and also he never apologizes for it. Jeff Bezos takes the decisions on their own
without consulting with their employees (Cusumano, 2017).
There are various characteristics which are possessed by him as a leader. It has been observed
that he has the quality of taking high risk. Jeff always takes a high risk by investing the huge
money in the business or in projects. When he emphasized on bringing change from the book
stores to the various products segments, then at that time he has taken a strong decision as he was
not sure that it will be successful or not (Pisani, 2019). But then also he took the risk and now the
company is one of the largest online companies on the global platform. Jeff also possesses the
motivational skill through which the employees are guided to consider the right decisions. He

If the comparison is made between the two leaders, it has been stated that Mark Zuckerberg
focuses on dealing with the situation with aggression but Jeff Bezos take accurate decisions by

the customer-centric approach but it is examined that Mark Zuckerberg emphasizes on giving
training and feedback to the employees so that they can give their best towards the activities of
the company. Also, he takes the decisions by consulting the issues with the employees but this is
not the same in the case of Jeff Bezos. It can be stated that the decisions take by Jeff Bezos are
without consulting with the employees. He himself analyzes the situation and considers the right
decisions which are beneficial for the customers and also on some part for the employees. Mark
Zuckerberg is good in communication as he inspires the people or the customers by
communicating with them but for Jeff Bezos, incentives and other perks are considered which
inspires the people (McGurl, 2016).
The approach considered by Jeff Bezos is related to customer-centric but Mark Zuckerberg has
the approach to boost the satisfaction level of the employees. The focus given by Jeff is on the
customer's satisfaction but for Mark Zuckerberg, the employees are the first priority. The success
for Mark Zuckerberg is related to team coordination but for Jeff Bezos, the success is related to
boosting the satisfaction level of the customers. The customer-centric approach is considered in
which the focus is on boosting the experience of the customers towards the services or the
products offered in the market. Also, he emphasizes on listening to the queries of the customers
but on the other hand Mark Zuckerberg focuses on listening to its employees with the aim of
boosting trust and long-time relations with the employees (Moran, 2018).
If compared with Jeff Bezos, it can be stated that Mark Zuckerberg is a high-risk taker as he
takes decisions high risk without consulting the higher authorities. One of the best examples is of
when he acquired Instagram and the decision was taken without consulting his board of
directors. At the time of paying $1 Billion for the social app, he does not consult the same with
anyone and took the decision. He has the quality of self-confidence which has boosted the profit
of the company. In the present era, Instagram is estimated to be worthy of more than $40 Billion.
The decision took by him was profitable for the company but if it is compared with Jeff Bezos it
can be said that he was not a high-risk taker in relation to Mark Zuckerberg. He also took the
decisions to boost the range of the products but the decisions took by him was taken after the
discussion and also by consulting the different consultants (Neilpatel, 2019).
Therefore, it can be concluded that both the leaders are good in the skills possessed by them.
