Introduction Leadership is an activity of guiding, leading and motivating the individuals in order to accomplish the pre-defined goals. It allows a person to inspire the followers in an efficient manner(Bush, Bell and Middlewood, 2019). The present study aims to assess own leadership and management skills to grow and succeed in career. The report will cover leadership and management capabilities using ample of theoretical models. Further, it will include development of various leadership and management activities individually and as a team member. Assess the existing leadership and management capabilities using a range of academic and theoretical models Leadership skills are the strengths and capabilities of an individual to guide their employees, motivate them, and inspire them to attain the pre-defined goals. These skills are used to guide the team members in order to utilize their skills to reach at a certain level(De Oliveira, Cavazotte and Alan Dunzer, 2019). I used to work in a team where I played the role of team leader. I got the opportunity to interact with ample of people. In this context, my leadership and management capabilities can be assess with the application of various leadership theories which are mentioned below: Contingency theory:According to this theory, there is no particular way of leadership can be implemented in all situations. In other words, there are different variables associated with different situations. It is the duty of leaders to choose the right course of action by considering different variables(Hassi, 2019). In this context, I have the capability to evaluate the situation and deal with the situation accordingly. Here, I evaluate different variables of the situation and then take suitable decisions in order to handle the situation in the best possible way. Transformational leadership theory:This theory focuses on relationship building between leaders and followers.This theory focuses on such leaders who are inspiring, charismatic and encouraging. These leaders push their followers to reach at their maximum potential(Karatepe, Aboramadan and Dahleez, 2020). I have the ability to inspire the team members. I can easily influence others by me personality and characteristics. It allows me to help the followers in order to accomplish their goals in an efficient manner.
Behavioral theory:In this, the main focus is on actions and behavior of leaders rather their skills & abilities. According to this, behavior plays an important role in making a person good leader. It is possible for an individual to learn how to become a good leader. I am developing the necessary behavior which will help me in guiding, leading and inspiring the followers(Rehman and Iqbal, 2020). In this context, I am taking the online sessions, seminars, conferences and also take guidance from the well-known personalities in order to develop necessary leadership behavior. Leader and management capabilities: Decisiveness:I am able to take quick decision which make me a good and responsive leader. In this context, I evaluate the different aspects and then take the best possible decision accordingly. My decision-making skills are effective which allow me to perform the role of leader and manager in an efficient manner. I can make quick decision with available information. Integrity:I always favor the truth and follow my values. In this context, Imake ethical decisions at workplace and help the company in maintaining a positive image. By maintaining integrity, I am not only able to take right decisions but also able to set a perfect example in front of my team members. Relationship building:Being a leader, I have the ability to maintain positive relation with others. I can built and maintain strong relationship with my team members. For this purpose, I maintain effective communication with my teammates which helps me in order to maintaina positive environment at workplace. In addition, I have the skills of teamwork, collaboration, active listening and more which makes me enable to maintain strong relationship in the organization. Problem solving:As a leader, people trust on me and look at me to resolve their issues. I am efficient enough in resolving the business problems. I believe in planning and help my followers by giving them the best possible solutions of their problems. I am able to meeting the deadlines and always have a backup plan in order to deal with the issues in an efficient manner. Conclusion Out of the above-discussion, it can be concluded that leadership and management are the major aspects to run a business entity in an efficient manner. It is analyzed that I have necessary skills in order to perform my duties as an efficient leader. Further, there is an action plan for development of leadership and management skills in future period of time.
