Change management is systematic approach that is helpful in transforming or making the
certain changes so that desired goals or objectives of firm can be achieved in minimum time
frame. The main aspects of change management, is to implement the strategies related to
change, controlling the change and motivating people to adapt the change so that company can
retained competitive advantages in retail sector of UK. The manner in which different services
industry organisations such as Tesco and Sainsbury has make use of leadership to implement the
change can be discussed through making use of Kurt lewin theory. It is theory that have three
main stages which helps in understanding in detailed about the manner in which particular
changes has brought and benefited the company. Such as:
Lewin change management model of TESCO
Unfreezing: It is the most critical stages in terms of implementing the change
management process as employees or people are less willing to accept the change.
Likewise, covid-19 is one of the change that has impacted on growth and profitability of
the Tesco to maximum extend such as its sales volume and profit margin. So company
has plan to make changes in its existing products and services with a motivate to attract
more and more customers within the firm (Galli, 2018). The leaders to inspire employees
has aware them why it is necessary to add new products, what will be its overall benefits
and different challenges that are face by the company. Therefore, effective
communication has helped in engaging employees to actively take part in the change
management process for benefits of firm.
Change: The employees after having all information about the manner in which change
will be implement, its overall benefits or outcome, employees has put their best efforts to
implement the same. Tesco leaders has carefully plan, support, direct and guide people
related to the manner in which particular task will be completed. Along with it, the leader
has taken feedback of employees to know what are the challenges that they are facing
while implementing the change so that alternative method can be find out for effective
outcome. Thus it has helped in reducing overall wastage of resources and enhancing
overall profit of the firm.
