In success of a company, leader shows path to followers while manager coordinate along
with guide people to perform efficiently. Leadership and management are key components of
business as they direct resources to attain goals and enhance efficacy. Present report is prepared
on Steve Jobs and Elon Musk which are successful managers from technology industry. The
report includes debates in form of comparison of role of management and leadership.

Leadership practices refer to the actions taken by leaders to offer organization and direction
to their subordinate groups. Different leaders adopt different leadership practices to support
management, organization and implementation of day to day business activities. The technology
business leaders utilize various leadership practices for supervising the workforce and ensuing
that innovation and employee empowerment is facilities and reliable results are delivered to
every stakeholder.
Elon Musk is the founder of multinational auto-mobile company Tesla. In addition to this,
Elon Musk is also the founding member of various other successful enterprises such as Space X,
PayPal and X,.com (Khan, 2021). Steve Jobs was the founding member of Apple which is one
the most profitable technology companies.
Elon musk and Steve Jobs are considered ground-breaking and visionary leaders in the
technology industry because they were able to achieve success and ushered new era of growth.
Despite their important role in the field of leadership, Steve Jobs and Elon Musk used opposing
leadership practices to ensure that their vision comes to life. Steve Jobs was a detailed oriented
leader who focused on actively promoting change as part of his leadership practices. Challenging
conventional ideas and processes is a common leadership practice because it helps maintain
continuous growth and driver innovation.
On the other hand, Elon Musk is strategic leaders and takes the mantle of creating
organizational culture where learning is prioritized so that continuous development emerges
from continuous improvement instead of completely focusing on changing and challenging
everything. Developing clear strategies is an advantageous leadership practice because it

practices because it improved employee relationship and ensures that their complete commitment
will be directed to the project at hand. In this way Elon Musk is able to unite employees in
achieving organizational vision and increase their participation. This is major difference between
Steve Jobs and Elon Musk’s leadership as Elon Musk is dependent on active participation and
strategic thinking, Steve Jobs is dependent on delegating activities with trust and challenging
current convention.

of relentless action and efforts to achieve the perfect vision (Nargunde, 2021). Leaders who are
focused on achieving perfection never settle for anything which is less then best which makes

practice of learning from failures and looking at failure optimistically to achieve the perfect
vision and accomplish company objectives.
