INTRODUCTION
Leadership is a very crucial topic which is important in the organisation. This relates with
the leading, directing or influencing people in order get the organisational objectives and aims.
Business leaders use different techniques, styles or models in order to lead other people to meet
the organisational needs. Tesco has been taken into consideration to prepare this report. It is
global retail organisation in UK (Alvesson, 2019). In the current report, various leadership styles
and models have been applied in a business context. It will also analyse those leadership styles or
models that helps in developing an effective team. It also explores business culture and its impact
on leadership styles. Lately, it will highlight the influence of diversity management, along with
employment law to develop an inclusive work culture.
TASK
Evaluate leadership styles and models.
Leadership can be understood as a process of motivating others to perform their jobs in
collaborative manner to attain bigger things in an organisation. In respect of Tesco, different
leadership styles have been explained below:
Authoritarian leadership: This is one of the kind of leadership styles in which only one
person impose expectation and elaborate the objectives or results in business context. In
this style, leader is identified as the most knowledgeable person in the entire group. In
context with Tesco, suppose there is a need to adopt or employ a new technology in the
business in order to have a smooth and fast working by the employees. This decision can
be taken only by the leader and they do not tend to ask for any kind of suggestions from
their employees (The 5 leadership styles you can use, 2021).
Participative leadership: Leaders come in this category tend to believe in the employee
engagement and involvement in the business. They involve group members in the process
of decision-making in order to feel them valued and motivated towards their work. In
respect of Tesco, participative leaders involve their team members in order to get
innovative and fresh ideas that lead their business while attaining competitive benefits.
Servant: Service leader will combine selflessness with a concentration on the higher
requirements on the higher needs of others as workforce work toward attaining the
business vision. With the help of awareness and self-reflection, leader attain perception
