INTRODUCTION
Reflection is found to be one of the important way of learning. It is necessary to
understand that reflection is process which guides people to learn from their own experience.
With the help of a reflection, an individual is able to identify the areas of improvement
(Khalifa and et.al., 2019). This is necessary to understand that reflection is playing an
important role in the success and growth of an individual. This reflection is mainly based on
analysing the leadership style of an individual and how organisation leadership will be
conceptualized. This report will be segmented into two pieces of assessed work in which one
of them is self-reflection and the other one is leader interview. This report will discuss a self-
reflection which is based on experience on personal journals and logs. In addition to this,
review of journal will be include in this report. The self-reflection also covers a review of
learning in general which critically reflects a leadership approach of an individual. This
report will be included a leader interview. This report included an interview with a manager
who is responsible for other staff and it includes a review that synthesizes the academic
leadership theory with empirical data.

Experience on personal journals and logs
Leadership is found to be an ability which is generally not found in each and every
person as it requires many qualities in order to lead a team. I learned about leadership and
other important related topics during the module. I can say that it was very a good piece of
work which I enjoyed during the module. The module covered all topics related to leadership
which is necessary for an individual to know as it is not only for personal development but
also very crucial for professional growth (Balwant, 2021). I found that leadership is a quality
which needs to be developed in an individual. It requires many strengths, skills and
knowledge which help an individual develop leadership. The module covered many
important topics which I can show with my personal learning log. During the journey of 5
weeks, I was in a learning mode and I really very enjoyed it. I am not denying that I did not
face any difficulty during the module but yes it is necessary for my personal and professional
development. There are many topics in which I faced the difficulty that are the perception of
leadership, dispersed leadership, toxic and bad leadership and ethical leadership. For the
development of more skills and knowledge, my manager was always ready to support a team.

They always give me assistance that it is very important for each and every individual to
develop some qualities of leadership as it is necessary for future growth and success.
After attending the module, I thought that it is very important for each and every
individual to develop some leadership qualities because it is identified that organisations
demand leaders who are able to handle all the dynamic situations of the business environment
(Pak, 2018). It is important to note that leadership is not an easy skill which can develop by
each and every individual as it requires dedication. Before attending the module sessions, I
thought that leadership is not tough but after attending the module session I realised that it is
important for each individual to understand that leadership quality does not easily develop. It
requires patience as well as dedication.
In the learning log, I felt that it was a very great experience for me as I got to know
the improvement areas from the analysis of past work experience and current learning. In the
module sessions, I got to know about that what my previous mistakes in the past work which
I need to remove.
Review of journal
As per my own experience in the learning journal, I analyse that leadership is playing
a very important role in the business environment and I also found that it is the quality which
helps to growth in the organisation (Maheshwari, 2022). I really want that I can become an
employee of an organisation that has a demand in the market and in the module sessions I
realised that leadership skills are playing a very important role in order to become that type of
person. I analysed that if an individual has not good leadership and management approach
then they are definitely not able to grow in their career and organisation. I found that
organisation provides an opportunity to those individuals who are employees who have
something different from others. I analyse that an effective leadership and management
approach is found to be one of the important skill which is required for the purpose of
developing skills and knowledge which makes an individual competition in the business
environment (Saruchera, 2022). In my experience which I showed in a learning journal, I
realise that my management and leadership approaches are good but it is very important to
develop some qualities and skills that only I will be able to achieve the goals and objectives.
In the week first, I learnt about basic introduction and overview of leadership. In that
week, I also learnt about some important types of leadership which I found very important for
each and every individual. It is important to note that every situation does not require the

same type of leadership and that's why it is important for individuals to understand the use of
different types of leadership styles and different types of situations (Brown, 2021). The
session was very helpful for me. In the next session, the main manager asks to do a group
discussion and I found that it was a great experience for me as I realise that there are many
perceptions found for leadership. That means every individual has a different perception and
this is the main reason that leadership should have been the ability to understand that
perception. I analyse that leadership requires in personal life also because every time a person
should act as a leader so that they are able to take right decisions as well as give right
suggestions to the team whether it is in an organisation or in a college or in personal life. The
manager conducted many learning sessions and also uses some support which helps us to
develop some leadership skills and knowledge. In the group discussions, we all participants
argue on each topic which I found to be very effective in order to clear the topics (Khalifa,
2020). We also did a role play in which I lead a team and I found that my leadership is very
effective as compared to others. But yes there are some areas in which I realise that I have
fewer expertise and it is very important for ethical leaders.
There are many areas which I analysed from my experience that needs to be improved
such as time management, critical thinking skill, problem-solving skills, etc. From the
discussion of my experience, I expected that it is important for me to improve my weak areas
which can be possible with the help of making a personal development plan.
Component B - Leader interview
It is important to know the relationship of the manager with leadership. For that
purpose, the interview was conducted with the manager who I tell you is responsible for other
staff rather than just material resources (Brinkmann, Cash and Price, 2021). During the
interview session, I realise that it is very important to provide an overview of leadership to
the manager as managers are not only responsible for material resources but they should be
responsible for other staff numbers. This is the main reason that an interview was conducted.
In the interview session, I asked all the questions related to leadership as leadership is one of
the important abilities which is responsible for other staff members. Leaders are the person
who is not only responsible for resource material but are mainly responsible for the
management of human resources. It is identified that the management of human resources is
not an easy task and that's why an organisation requires a leader who is able to handle
situations with human resources (Lumby, 2019). From the data I collected in an interview, I

not an easy task and that's why an organisation requires a leader who is able to handle
situations with human resources (Lumby, 2019). From the data I collected in an interview, I
identified the person who is a manager and found the leadership ability. In addition to this, I
also experience how the live experience of managers related to leadership. That means it is
very important for a manager to play some role of leadership because he is the person who is
not responsible for arranging the resource material but you should be responsible for all the
activities related to the human resource. The responsibility of a manager is to manage and
fixes all the task and activity that are able to achieve the goals and objective of the
organisation.
It is important to note that each and every individual should focus on increasing the
qualities of leadership because a leader is not only required for leadership quality as it is also
mandatory for a manager (Mahfouz, 2018). From the result of the interview, I got to know
that a manager gives only 2 rates out of five as a leader as he found some weak areas in
leadership. After hearing the interview answers from the manager, I realised that it is very
important for them to poses all the skills and knowledge of leadership because a manager is
responsible for managing each and every activity which are related to the organisation and it
including human resources as well. There are many organisations identified that have one
manager or a leader. That means they are not appointed two-person for a leader and a
manager. They appointed the one person who is able to play the role of leader and manager.
It is also identified from the interview of a manager that they understand the rules and
responsibilities of leaders but they are not doing such activities performed by a leader
(Cardiff, McCormack and McCance, 2018). It is also identified that there are many types of
leadership styles known by a manager but they said that one leadership style is enough. But I
know that it is a wrong answer because one leadership style is not possible to apply in each
and every situation. I also got to know that the manager has knowledge of types of leadership
styles. The manager does not understand that leadership style should be used according to the
situation of the organisation. It is very important to note that leadership styles include
democratic, autocratic, laissez faire, etc. These are the important leadership styles which help
an individual to perform or act in the organisation in a different situation.
During the interview session, I got to know that a manager list many problems if they
are not understanding the leadership in an effective way. I am able to understand that
leadership is consoled with any belly day which is required in each and every level of
organisation. It is identified that leadership is found to be one of the most observed and least
understood phenomena on earth and this is the main reason that managers are not able to
perform efficiently in an organisation. Leadership is found to be one of the key factors which
also experience how the live experience of managers related to leadership. That means it is

are responsible for the success and growth of the organisation (Sobri, and et.al., 2018). This is
the main reason that leadership is playing a very important role and should know by the
manager of the organisation. Leadership is found to be an ability that proved one of the most
important appealing in management. It is identified that in today's business environment and
society, it becomes very difficult to understand leadership. There are many people who are
not understanding the real meaning of reduction as the understanding that leadership is only
concerned with leading a team.
From the collected data, I got to know that a manager has no the importance of
leadership but still, they are not doing anything because they understand that it is not their
work. It is also analysed from the data I collected from an interview that managers are able to
delegate rules and responsibility but they are not focusing on employees' requirements as they
understand that this is not part of their work (Hallberg, and Santiago, 2021). It is very
important for all managers to understand that this is also their work as they have the
responsibility of the organisation. There are many leaders who are found in the business
environment who are very efficiently working in their organisation as a leader as well as a
manager. Need to understand the importance of leadership theory and should take inspiration
from the leaders which are popular in the business environment (Omilion-Hodges and Ptacek,
2021). This is very important that values need to be considered by leaders and it is identified
that managers are effectively understood. So I analyse that there is a relationship between
leaders and managers. Every day the complexities for the organisation are increasing due to
the dynamic nature of the business environment and that's why I put up a question that was
related to the bad and toxic leadership. During that period, I got to know that managers are
facing similar problems faced by leaders as both of them have a common goal to achieve the
organisational goals and objectives. Their priorities are different but the ultimate goal is the
same (Rubens, and et.al., 2018). From the data I collected, I identify that the skills and
knowledge required by an effective leader are also similar to the skills and knowledge of a
manager. A leader required some extra skills and knowledge and it is very important for a
manager to develop that skills and knowledge because then only they will be able to stay in
the market and become competitive in the business environment. Without the development of
skills and knowledge of leadership, it is not possible for all the managers to manage the
organisation as it includes the human resources which are directly related to the leadership.
From the analysis of the interview, I identify that it is very important for managers to
provide training related to their development as it is crucial for them to understand the
the main reason that leadership is playing a very important role and should know by the
manager of the organisation. Leadership is found to be an ability that proved one of the most

importance of leadership and developed skills and knowledge accordingly. I identify that
there is a relationship between managers and leaders (Sultan, and et.al., 2019). This
relationship shows that it is necessary for manager or leaders to have the skills of both
position because sometimes they both are one person. Due to this, it becomes crucial for
managers to poses all the qualities and skills which are required for a leader. It is important
for them to delegate the roles and responsibilities to the employees and also focus on the
setting of goals and objectives. If the delegation activities is not processed among employees
then they are not able to know about their own duty and it will create confusion for the team.
It is identified that managers also set goals and objectives for the organisation and similarly
leaders should make goals and objectives so that they are able to lead the team effectively. So
it is analysed from the experience of managers that there related to the leadership theory
(White, Guthrie and Torres, 2019). It is very important for managers to develop the qualities
of an ethical leaders and also have an overview of leadership-related topics then the
organisation is able to achieve its goals and objectives.
CONCLUSION
It can be concluded from the above discussion that leadership is playing a very
important role in individual life as well as an organisation. This is very important to
understand that leadership is playing a very important role in order to achieve the goals and
objectives of an organisation. This is the main reason that each and every individual is
focusing on identifying the individuals who are able to work in a dynamic situation of the
business environment. This report included self-reflection which they experienced on
learning of module. In addition to this, the report also covered an interview session with the
manager. It helps to analyse the practical application of leadership theory.
