INTRODUCTION
Reflective writing is referred as the analytical practice where writer describes imaginary
or real interaction, event, scene or memory and add personal reflection on the meaning. In this,
the writer reflects on the issue as well as consider the way their own experiences might impact
their response. It also assists an individual to learn about themselves and contribute to better
outcomes that consider biases. This is a reflective report which includes two parts which help in
assessing whether the learning from the module is achieved or not. The report includes reflective
writing based on the portfolio of evidence and it involves reflection on the learning from the
sessions in the way learning will be utilized to develop particular areas of knowledge and skills
further. The portfolio of the evidence includes reflection on the learning activities, personal
development plan, continuous development logs and self-evaluation against graduate human
resource position. The reflection in the report is provided by using Gibbs reflective cycle.
PART 1
Reflective writing on the learning from sessions
Reflective writing is a good practice that help learner to think about the way they think. It
provides an opportunity to the learner to express what he or she knows and the way it relates to
their experience. It also assists an individual to think about the learning process and make it
useful for them. This is a reflective report in which I reflect upon my own experience that I get
during undertaking the module. In this, I use Gibbs reflective model for reflecting upon my
learning experience. It was developed by Graham Gibbs in year 1988 in order to provide
structure to the learning from the experiences. It provides a framework to examine the
experiences as well as provide its cyclic nature lends itself specifically well to repeated
experiences, that enable me to learn and plan from things which other went well or not well. This
reflective cycle includes 6 stages name as description, feelings, evaluation, analysis, conclusion
and action plan. My experience while undertaking the module and the sessions using Gibbs
model is provided below.

I am a student undertaking a module "Human Resource management". While undertaking
the module and various sessions takes place in the module, I initially very nervous as I have no
knowledge about the sessions and the topics on which the sessions were based. The session was
undertaken in my University. I faced many difficulties initially due to my weak communication,
team working, leadership and problem solving skills. In the classroom, I was not able to interact
effectively with my teacher and my classmates as well because my communication skills were
not good at that time. Various sessions were conducted on organizational culture, performance
management, organizational change and transformation etc. In these sessions, I have the
opportunity to learn many things. I was provided with the task of giving presentation by my
tutor. Initially I expected that it was done in the group, but later I found that I have to give
presentation alone. This decreased my morale and motivation and my confidence level gets low
at that time. However, my tutor and my classmates helped me a lot and motivated me to give the
presentation. Firstly, I needed to attend the sessions and then gave the presentation on that. In the
first session, about performance management in which I learnt so many things including the
characteristics of workplace of future, imperatives of Human Resource management, Evolution
of performance management, challenges of current performance management etc.
Initially, when I attended the session I was not able to understand the topic as it was
completely new to me. However, after sometime I felt that the topic is very easy and I was able
to understand the topic slowly and steadily. My nervousness gradually become decreased my
confidence level increased slowly. My interest was developed on the topic which helped in
improving my knowledge associated with it. During that session, I faced difficulty in interacting
with the tutor because of ineffective communication skills. I felt bad at that time as I was not
able to clear my confusions with the tutor because of my ineffective communication skills.
However, when I attended the second session, the problem which I faced in the first session due
to lack of communication skills gets reduced and my confidence level slowly boost up which
helped me to stand up and clear my confusion. There were so many things which went well at
that time as it improved my knowledge and skills and make me able to perform well in future.
However, a few things were there which were not good. For instance: because of my weak
communication, I was not able to clear my confusions with the tutor due to which some of the
concepts associated with the topic were not there at that time.
