Reflective Report on Leadership Style and Entrepreneurial Qualities_2
Introduction
Entrepreneurial qualities play an important role in starting and running a business venture
successfully. Having entrepreneurial qualities is important to gain success in the current
competitive environment. For this purpose, there is requirement to have necessary
entrepreneurial capabilities like communication, risk taking, innovation, creativity and more.
Leadership styles refers to the behavior, characteristics, of leader to guide, motivate, inspire and
direct workforce to attain pre-defined goals in successful manner. Great leaders have the
capabilities to inspire the followers to perform assigned duties effectively. For this purpose,
different leadership styles such as transformational leadership, transactional leadership,
democratic leadership style and more can be followed. Different business personnels are likely to
adopt different types of leadership styles based on the organizational circumstances (Kim,
ElTarabishy and Bae, 2018). The present study is reflection based on the analysis and
understanding regarding leadership styles and entrepreneurial qualities in significant manner.
Along with this, it will cover the examples of business organizations in an efficient manner.
Main Body:
Leadership Style:
Leaders are considered key-person of a company as they play a crucial role in guiding,
leading, motivating and directing the team members. The main aim of every leader is to ensure
maximum growth of team members so that pre-defined goals can be attained significantly.
Leaders also play an important role in ensuring success of a company by keeping regular
monitoring and controlling on the actions of individuals. In this context, different style of
leadership are mentioned below:
Authoritarian leadership style: This is a traditional leadership style that allows a leader
to impose own expectations on the employees. In this, the decision-making power lies to leader
and there is absolute control over subordinates. Here, the employees need to follow the
commands of leaders appropriately. However, this types of leadership style is less likely to
adopted in present business environment (Dhamija, Chiarini and Shapla, 2021). This type of
leadership style is followed by leaders of sillcon valley such as Bill gates, Elon Musk and more

(Examples of Autocratic leadership and how to leverage it,2021). I am not likely in favor of such
leadership style as it hamper employees creativity and innovation and also reduced group
synergy & collaboration.
Participative leadership style: The main essence of respective leadership style is to
allow the employees to take part in decision-making process. This feels team members engaged,
included which further motivates them to significantly contribute in success of the entity.
Additionally, this allows the employees to be creative where they can easily express their
thoughts in front of seniors (Koo and Park, 2018). In business context, Indra nooyi is considered
as one of the best examples of participative leadership. She used to welcome the opinions of
subordinates in decision-making which is helpful in growth of the entity (Participative
leadership: Definition, characteristics and examples, 2021). In this context, I also believe in
participative leadership as it allows the employees to take part in decision- making. As a result,
they consider themselves as an important part of the company which lead towards high
engagement & connectivity.
Transactional leadership style: This is related with transactions between employees and
leaders which can be done through rewards, punishments and other sort of exchanges. Here, the
main aim of leader is to get the job done whether through punishment or reward. In other words,
leaders are likely to reward those workers who perform their duties appropriately. On other side,
they are likely to punish those employees who do not perform according to the set standards
(Alloubani, and et. al., 2019). From business world, Steve Jobs is considered as one of the most
transactional leader. He influenced employees with strong desire of hard work, clear vision,
passion and more (Motivating a workforce by Steve Jobs, 2019). In my context, I believe in
transaction leadership where the leaders do not only reward the workers but they also punish as
per requirement. It helps in shaping the career of employees in rightful manner.
Transformation leadership style: This is a new leadership style where leaders are likely
to inspire own followers with a vision to attain the common goals efficiently. Here, leaders
encourage the team members so that they work towards achievement of organizational goals in
significant manner. In this context, leaders are likely to act as a role model. This is an important
leadership style that helps in minimizing the employee turnover. It also helps in motivating and
encouraging the employees so that they can attain the set goals efficiently (Thomas, 2020). Jeff
