Introduction
The two most popular schools of Supply Chain management are Lean and Agile Supply Chains.
The two companies which are in discussion are falling under these two schools. The
Constructive Dilemma may be showcased in the following manner:
1. If it is the case that one of the companies A or B falls under the category of Lean Supply
Chain (Antony, Escamilla and Caine,2003) , then it is the case that the respective
company must focus on manufacturing high volume of the products at a less cost, giving
more importance to the customers with the help of less expensive goods and low wastage;
and if it is the case that that one of the companies A or B falls under the category of Agile
Supply Chain Management(Agarwal, Shankarm and Tiwari, 2007) , then it is observed
that the respective company is showcasing the flexible nature whereby with few changes
in the technology, economic fluctuations and changes in the demands from the side of the
customers.
2. It is the case that one of the companies A or B falls under the category of Lean Supply
Chain or it is the case that that one of the companies A or B falls under the category of
Agile Supply Chain Management. [This is the case given in the assignment]
3. Therefore, it is the case that the respective company must focus on manufacturing high
volume of the products at a less cost, giving more importance to the customers with the
help of less expensive goods and low wastage or it is observed that the respective
company is showcasing the flexible nature whereby with few changes in the technology,
economic fluctuations and changes in the demands from the side of the customers. (This
is observed in the case given in the assignment and as per the theories of the lean and

two horns in it. This will certainly help us to understand the following:
a. Loopholes for the company
b. Strategies for the improvements
c. Steps for implementing the strategies
d. To elucidate the real life example of an industry
In this manner, one will be able to understand the concepts and theories of the Supply Chain
Management and resolve the glaring issues for the two given companies.
