Practical TASK 1: Case scenario
Scenario 1. While performing the lens tinting exercise, you have spilled some hazardous chemical. You are now required to conduct a
risk assessment and incident report. Please use the provided template below.
Risk Assessment plan and incident reporting
Assessment What is the risk to the:
Client; he or she will be exposed to the hazardous chemical through inhalations of its fumes or skin to skin contact with the chemical. In-case of
contact the client might experience burns, which will vary if the chemical is a base or an acid. Another risk to the client is the ability to carry the
spillage on their clothes which most of the times goes unnoticed; such occurrences can cause serious problems in future.
Environment; it is at a risk of exposure from the fumes which will contaminate the air around it, this can affect both the living and non-living things
within the surroundings. The chemical is likely to spill on the working surface causing damages to the surface, it is also likely to seep under the
working surface causing significant harm to work surface.
