Introduction
Learning is highly important in order to grow in future career. Here, learning
make a person enable to learn new concepts with an aim to gain success in life.
In addition to this, a person can easily set a unique identity by learning new
theories and concept each and every day. It is stated that learning is also
important to ensure personal as well as professional development in significant
manner. While studying in the classroom, an individual gets to learn various
concepts that further contributes in their personal as well as professional growth
(Nisbet and Shucksmith, 2017). In present context, I attend academic sessions
where I learned several concepts that will allow me to grow in future career. The
report will cover how learning of this module helped me in professional and
personal development. It will include different skills which I learned throughout
the module such as communication, CV writing, Interview skills and more.
Further, academic growth during the module will also cover in the respective
report.
Reflection on Professional Development
Professional development is important to develop necessary skill set
with an aim to ensure growth in future career. This development is useful in
order to gain success in career in an efficient manner (Cohen, 2021). In other
words, professional development refers to identify the goals and learning new
skills to succeed at work. With this, a person can easily maintain a unique
identity at workplace. This also helps in sustaining within the job for longer
run. Now, professional development has become a crucial part for the growth
of company. For this purpose, companies are also likely to organize
professional career development programs. These types of programs are helpful
in upgrading a person in order to ensure significant contribution in success of
business entity. Additionally, professional development refers to maintain
continuation in education and career training after entering into corporate jobs
(Howard and Eddy‐Imishue, 2020). This helps in developing new skills,

capabilities in order to advance the career in significant manner.
Learning of professional development module can be used to grow in
career. During week 1, there was focus on assessment of skills. Here, I used to
focus on assessing my skills and capabilities so that I can structure suitable
plans to grow in future. Additionally, this module made me enable to identify
the weak areas so that I can make necessary improvements to grow in the future
period of time. By assessing the skills, I can easily take suitable corrective
actions to make a bright future efficiently. While studying in the module, in
week 2 I learned regarding the significance of making appropriate occupational
choice. There are several occupations such as banking, marketing, finance and
more. It is important to make appropriate occupational choice to utilize skills
and capabilities appropriately. Apart from the skills, one also needs to consider
the inclination while choosing a suitable occupation. By making an appropriate
occupational choice, it is possible to grow in the career in future period of time.
Additionally, it also allows to utilize the available skill in an efficient manner.
The week 5 & 6 was related to CV writing and interview skills. CV
reflects the academic and professional growth of a person. During the module, I
learned how to write an appropriate CV. This will help me in preparing such a
CV that will reflect my profile in an appropriate way. Further, it will also help
me in getting a good job in future period of time. Additionally, I also got
interview skills during the week which will help in cracking job interviews
successfully. During week 10, I got coaching skills. Here, I learned how to
provide mentorship to subordinates. The learning will make me enable to lead
the team member effectively so that they can contribute towards attainment of
pre-defined goals. Week 11 was about negotiation skills. During the respective
week, I learned how to negotiate with different parties. This skill will help me
in negotiating with individuals effectively so that I can generate profits for the
company. By this way, learnings of different weeks will allow me to grow
professionally. With this, I can make a bright and enriching professional career
for further betterment.

Reflection on Personal Development
Personal development is a term that is designed to improve the overall talent,
potential, capabilities of individuals so that they can attain tremendous amount of
success in the future period of time. In addition, personal development is related
with continuous efforts to improve one-self. This not only help in development of
an individual but also useful in terms of development of various skills &
capabilities for future growth. If one is putting constant efforts to improve self,
this will help in own personal development. Anytime a person can get involved in
the activities of personal development to improve self (Allen and et. al., 2019). It
is analyzed that personal development is highly important in current time as it
makes a person enable to become the best version of self. Personal development is
not merely related with developing a particular skill rather it is helpful in the
overall development of a person. Additionally, personal development is a crucial
part of growth as well as progression of individuals. It allows a person to explore
in different areas of self-improvement & enhancement. By this way, individuals
are likely to get the feeling of fulfillment in personal life. During the module, I
gained significant insights related to personal development. In week 1, there was
focus on assessment skills. I used to pay attention on assessing my own skills with
an aim to take necessary corrective actions in future period of time. Through this,
I am able to assess my weak areas in order to take suitable corrective steps in
significant manner (Rowe, 2017). Additionally, I used to focus on assessing my
skills and capabilities so that I can structure suitable plans to grow in future.
Additionally, this module made me enable to identify the weak areas so that I can
make necessary improvements to grow in the future period of time.
During week 3, self-leadership was covered. It is an important concept that
is useful in developing leadership qualities so that one can easily lead and guide
the team members efficiently. Here, self-leadership is related with analyzing,
exercising and improving own leadership abilities. Basically, it is related with
having a sense who are you, what you can do and more. While studying in the
module, I learned the concept of self-leadership. It will develop discipline in me
so that I can perform assigned duties in an efficient manner. With this, I will able
to provide guidance and mentorship to the team members so that they can

contribute towards the attainment of pre-defined goals. In week 4, I learned
regarding the emotional intelligence. Here, emotional intelligence is highly
important to stay emotionally strong in order to take effective decisions
effectively. By staying emotionally strong, I can easily take effective decisions.
Emotional intelligence is the ability to control on emotions in positive way.
Learning during the respective week will allow me to take strong decision in
significant manner. With this, I can easily communicate others, empathize them
and overcome from various challenges effectively.
Reflection on Academic Development
Academic development offers students goals and skills so that they can
attain success in personal & professional life. Basically academic growth is the
measure of progress of students between two points of time. This makes students
a better individual so that they can attain growth in personal as well as
professional career (Salter and Rhodes, 2018). During academic development, a
person learns ample of skills, capabilities to ensure success in future career. In
order to ensure academic development, it is required to understand the areas
where one is lacking. Further, there is requirement to assess the available
resources so that suitable strategies can be made. For academic development, it is
important to understand the need to future growth so that appropriate plans can be
structure accordingly. To ensure academic growth, there is requirement to attend
the classroom of professor and take their help. Here, professor can help students in
academic growth by resolving their doubts in timely manner. In current context,
the entire module was full of various insights to ensure academic development of
students in future period of time (Roxå and Mårtensson, 2017). Here, I learned
ample of concepts that will make me enable to attain growth in upcoming future.
During the module, I learned various skills such as assessment, communication
skills, negotiation skills and more. The week 1 was about assessment skills which
makes a person enable to assess own capabilities to take suitable actions in the
future period of time. By assessing own skill, it is possible to structure suitable
strategies to ensure future betterment.
WEEK 2 was related to occupational choice that will help me in making
suitable choice regarding the occupation in an efficient manner. By having

knowledge regarding different occupation, I can easily make a suitable choice.
Additionally, I learned regarding the significance of making appropriate
occupational choice. There are several occupations such as banking, marketing,

occupational choice, it is possible to grow in the career in future period of time.
WEEK 3 was related to self-leadership. This will help me in making a strong
personality so that I can provide effective leadership to the fellows. Through this,
I can perform the academic roles & responsibilities significantly. In WEEK 4, I
learned the importance of emotional intelligence so that I can take strong
decisions in the future period of time. Through this, I will be able to perform
academic duties significantly. By staying emotionally strong, I can easily take part
in different academic activities that will help me in my academic development &
growth. During week 5, I got to know how to write an appropriate CV so that I
can write an appropriate CV. Further, I also developed interview skills which will
allow me to perform better during the interview. Apart from these learnings, I also
learned how to write reflection. Now, I am familiar how to write reflection by
analyzing own skills and capabilities. This will make me enable to improve my
future performance in significant manner. Further, I also got to know the method
of referencing in order to make the information authentic.
Conclusion
With the above-information, it is analyzed that learning make a person
enable to learn new concepts with an aim to gain success in life. In addition to
this, a person can easily set a unique identity by learning new theories and concept
each and every day. It is stated that learning is also important to ensure personal as
well as professional development in significant manner. Further, I got various
skills and capabilities throughout the module. It is analyzed that I got assessing
skills, communication skills, negotiation skills, CV writing and interview skills
and more so that I can grow in personal as well as professional career. Apart from
this, I learned the concept of self-leadership that will not only enhance my own
leadership capabilities but also will make me enable to ensure academic

WEEK 1
The today’s session was full of various insights where I got the opportunity to
learn ample of concepts. Here, I learned the significance of professional development. I
found the activities which were designed in order to develop the skills among students.
Along with all the students, I took part in classroom activities in order to gain insightful
knowledge & capabilities. During this session, I felt excited as I got the opportunity to
enhance my personal as well as professional knowledge in an efficient manner. Throughout
the session, I learned that engaging self in the practices of personal and professional
development is highly important to grow in the career in the future period of time. While
studying in the module, I interacted with my teacher where I came to know the significance
of skill development in personal as well as professional context. Although I am not sure
about my own development and enhancement however, I will prepare a personal
development plan in order to develop various skills. But, there is requirement to take
necessary steps in order to make the respective plan successful. It is analyzed that I might
have learned more if I paid attention during the classroom. Sometimes, I found it difficult
to concentrate on the classroom learning’s. Here, I am looking forward to enhance my
capabilities in order to ensure professional development in the future period of time.
WEEK 2
The week 2 was related to occupational choice, career planning, opportunities and
more. Here, I learned to analyze own performance so that I can develop necessary skills in
order to grow in the future. Additionally, I learned how to prioritize the opportunities
related to development which will help me in attaining the pre-defined goals. Further, I
will learn to structure a career plan so that I can accomplish set objectives in an efficient
manner. The session was review quiz that I liked the most. This quiz will help me in
assessing my own performance so that I can make necessary improvements in future. One
thing, I learned throughout the session is how to assess own performance in effective
manner. This will help me in preparing a suitable PDP plan so that I can make
improvement in future performance significantly. Apart from this, I also learned the

process of career planning. For this purpose, one need to understand where he\she is
standing. Further, there is requirement to decide what they want to do. After that, they need
to take necessary actions and further need to review the progress constantly. This will help
in terms of ensuring progress effectively. I am not sure about my future career planning. I
am in dilemma in terms of future goals. This affects my efforts in terms of attaining
success in future period of time. I might have learned more if I stayed focus regarding my
future goals. If I paid attention to the lectures and prepared suitable plans for my future
growth, it would have helped me in preparing suitable plan for future growth and
enhancement. Now, I wish to think for my future. For this purpose, I am looking forward
to structure effective plans so that I can grow success in future in an efficient manner.
WEEK 3
During the week 3, I learned about Big five personality model. This model is
important in terms of analyzing the personality of different individuals. Here, I got to know
that big five personality traits are extraversion, openness, conscientiousness, agreeableness
and more. Further, I came across how the big five trait theory contributes in development
of leadership. Apart from this, I also learned regarding the theories and practical
applications of leadership. I got to know the concept of self-leadership that will prove
helpful in ensuring development of myself in future period of time. I found that assessing
own leadership in terms of planning the future career development is one of the most
interesting thing I came across during the module. The most important thing I learned
during the learning sessions of week 3 that assessing self-leadership is highly important in
order to plan future career development & growth. However, I am not sure about
development of self-leadership. Now, I need to enhance my knowledge regarding the
theoretical and practical aspect of self-leadership. Here, I might have learned more If I
have knowledge regarding the Big Five personality trait and its role. With knowledge of
different personality traits, I could have been enhanced my performance and leadership
role in significant manner. Now, I want to improve my performance and self-leadership
qualities by using the theoretical framework of leadership. In addition to this, I also wish to
develop self-leadership so that I can enhance my performance in significant manner.

WEEK 4
While studying in the module, I learned ample of skills that will allow me to grow
in future career. Here, I got knowledge regarding emotional intelligence and its role in
leadership. The role of emotional intelligence in leadership is the most interesting concept
that I found most important throughout the session. Nowadays, the concept of emotional
intelligence is highly important in terms of performing the role of effective leader. In
addition to this, I came across the theories and practical application of emotional
intelligence. One thing I learned that assessing own emotional intelligence is highly
important to ensure career development in future. Apart from this, I learned that the
concept of emotional intelligence is highly important in order to develop leadership
qualities. I am not sure about the development of emotional intelligence skill in terms of
ensuring growth in future career. If I concentrate on the classroom sessions, I might have
learned more. Here, I might develop emotional intelligence that will allow me to develop
leadership skill in an efficient manner. Now, I want to improve my capabilities to manage
the emotional intelligence. This will allow me to make a strong personality to attain growth
in future career.
Week 5
In today's session, I felt really excited as it really helped me a lot in having deep
understanding about the concept of communication. During this week, I got to learn about
the importance of communication and its various concepts and how communication plays a
very important part in the life of students. During this session, I faced a lot of difficulties as
I my communication skills were not up to the mark which really created a barrier for me
during my sessions. But I felt really excited while attending these sessions as it will really
help me improving my communication skills. During this session, I realised why
communication is so much important and how it basically contributes in the life of an
individual. I got to learn various things in the session. Another important thing I learnt was
how to handle conflict and also helped in understanding the different ways which could
help me in communicating in a better manner. Although I was not really sure about the
way I was communicating with other individuals and I realised that I need to pay full
attention and also improving my communication skills in a better manner. In the starting I
faced various issues in relation to the communication skills which made it very tough for

me to communicate in an effective and efficient manner (Sırma, 2019).
Week 6
Today' session was really a great learning experience and it really helped me a lot
in learning new concepts and opportunities. In the week 6, I got to learn about the
importance of interviews and various related concepts. It really helped me a lot in
understanding interviews and how they play a very important role in the work life. During
this session, it helps in understanding the various challenges which are faced by the
individuals during the time of interview. Moreover, it helps in deep understanding about
the different types of interview formats which comprises of the interviews such as group
interview, phone interview, panel interview, online interview and digital interview.
Moreover, I felt really excited as it helped me a lot in understanding and also preparing
myself for various interview questions with the help of various different methods.
Although I was not sure about my experience during the interview and I thought to carry
out effective steps for the purpose to make the plan successful. I realised that I need to pay
attention and put more focus on the learning sessions and also focusing on enhancing my
capabilities to perform better in the interviews. During my sessions, I was very excited to
prepare myself for the future interview and also with the help of these skills I think I will
be able to perform better in my future job roles (Tweneboah and Alagidede, 2018).
Week 7
Today's session was full of knowledge and I got the chance to learn about the
concept of reading skills. Here, I got to learned about the importance of reading skills, I
found that good reading skills plays a very important role when it comes to universities.
Moreover, I also took part in the activities carried out in the classroom in relation to the
reading skills. During this session, I was really overwhelmed as I got the chance to
improve my communication and reading skills as well improving my overall personality.
In the entire session, I also got to learn about the scanning and skimming, taking feedbacks
and much more. During the module, I interacted with my teacher who helped me a lot in
understanding the writing skills and also shared more information about the academic
writing. Although I was not sure about my reading and writing skills, I will be developing
a personal development plan for the purpose to develop these skills. I also realised that, I
need to carry out essential steps for the purpose to make the entire plan successful (Puerto,

Rodríguez-Madrena and Scozzari, 2020).
Week 8
Today's session was full of knowledge and I got the chance to learn new things.
Here, I got the opportunity to learn about the importance of performance reviews. During
this week, I got to learn so much about the performance reviews and also got the chance to
learn about the various performance theories. During this session, I felt really excited to
learn about new concepts and how the performance reviews helps in offering various
benefits. Although, I was not sure about my own improvement and development.
Sometimes, I found it very difficult to focus on the learning and now I am very keen to
improve my capabilities and reviewing my performance for the purpose to ensure the
professional development Moreover, I felt really excited about the performance reviews
and various benefits associated with it. Although, I believe the performance reviews and
various concepts related to that will help me a lot in overall development. Although, I tried
to review my performance but I faced various issues in relation to reviewing my
performance in an effective manner. I also faced a lot of difficulties while reviewing my
performance but I am trying to improve my lessons (Ding and Zheng, 2021).
Week 9
Today's session was really exciting and I got the opportunity to learn various
concepts. Here I got to learn about the significance of the concept of coaching. It helped
me a lot in understanding the process of coaching which helps in providing workplace
coaching benefits and also having deep understanding about the styles of coaching and
foundations of coaching. During my session, the teachers also taught regarding the
building rapport, careful questioning, active listening and much more. During the session, I
was really excited to learn and understand about the GROW Model and how it has been
used. Although I was not sure, if I would able to have proper understanding and I also
faced various challenges during the entire session and was focusing to ensure professional
development. Moreover, I really enjoyed learning about the GROW Model which really
improved and helped me in checking up on my end goals and realistic approach and
reaching agreement. In some situations, I find it very tough to focus on the learning
process. I realised that this session will help me a lot in performing my job role and using

these skills will help me a lot in improving my future activities (Wakeling, Aldred and
Hains‐Wesson, 2018).
Week 10
In today' s session I got to learn about the concept of project management and its
significance. The session was all about project management, various relevant skills and the
common issues that basically leads to failure of the project. In the session, it was also
discussed about the project management skills and how these skills are basically used.
Moreover, I also got to learn about managing the groups and teams and the practices tips
for the purpose to manage the group projects. In addition to that, I got to learn so much
about the project management and also the key project variable characteristics. During the
session, one thing which caught my attention was how the projects are driven by the
various factors such as legal requirement, customer request, needs of the business and
much more. Moreover, I got few solutions in relation to my doubts such as why a project is
undertaken, how to plan a project in an effective manner, managing the project and
completing the project in a proper manner. Although, I was not very much sure about the
session like if I will be able to learn the things that had been taught in the class.
Furthermore, I really enjoyed learning about how a plan is basically created, how the
various factors are influences and impacts the entire project and much more (Bruno,
Esakia, and Goltz, 2022).
Week 11
The session started with a very good note. I got to learn about the concept of
negotiation and its importance. Moreover, I got to learn about the different types of
negotiating outcomes and the key skills that basically makes me a good negotiator. During
my sessions, I got to learn about the different ways of negotiating. I also realised that the
negotiation skills played a very important role in my future career and will also support me
in becoming more employable and also these skills are really high in demand when it
comes to employers. I also realised that these negotiation skills also help in ensuring a fair
deal and also supports in finding the middle ground in the situation. In addition to that, it
helps in removing the friction or any kind of pressure from my life. In addition to that, I
realised the importance of various types of negotiation skills and how these skills play a
very important part and different uses. My session was really exciting and it also helped
me a lot in understanding the various outcomes of negotiating. My teachers also taught us

how to become a good negotiator and related concepts to it. Though I was not sure, if I
would be able to negotiate in my future situations or not. But I really enjoyed my sessions
and I think the application of these skills will really help me a lot in improving my overall
personality and will also contribute in the future career (Cleveland, 2018).
Week 12
During this week, I will be asking and clearing my doubts in relation to all the
sessions which I attended during the last 11 weeks and will be looking for solutions in
order to clear my doubt in an effective and efficient manner. I will be submitting my
assignments and will be asking my doubts in relation to all the sessions that I had attended
in the past weeks. During the week 5, I had a doubt in relation to how to use the
communication methods and when to use those methods in an effective manner. In week 7,
I had a doubt of how to use the reading skills in an effective and efficient manner. During
the week 8, I had various issues in relation to reviewing my performance and I wanted to
clear my doubts for the same. In week 9, I had faced an issue in relation to coaching and
how the process of coaching is basically implemented in the effective manner. In the week
10, I had issue in relation to have a broader understanding about the concept of coaching.
Although, my session was really excited but I had few doubts in each session which I want
to resolve for the purpose to have better understanding about each concept and its various
related factors (Petukhina, Trimborn, Härdle and Elendner, 2021).
