How does the levels of analysis framework helps us to understand human
behavior?
Human behavior has been studied by psychologists on a number of grounds. Each of
the findings has been enriched with time. There are a number of factors which are necessary
to be taken into consideration in order to understand the behavioral pattern in human beings.
In order to keep things simple and at the same time facilitate the studies, a framework has
been developed. It is this framework that is known as the “levels of analysis” (Passer, Smith
& Norris 2016). Every human behavior has a reason behind it and the “levels of analysis”
that help in determining them are biological level, psychological level, and social or
environmental level.
The biological level takes into account the influence that the human brain and the
genetic patterns have on their behavior. It is the way in which the signals from the brain
control the human behavior (Smith 2017). The next level is the psychological level and this is
associated with the individual’s feelings and thoughts. It is at this level that the human
behavior is examined through the ways in which they think and even at times through their
motives. A social or environmental level is the last level of analysis in this framework. This
tends to address the human behavior on the basis of the environment that he or she is or has
been in (Carter 2017).
These levels of analysis turn out to be quite beneficial in understanding human
behavior. It proper a broader scope of analysis and at the same time reveals the mind-body
interaction. The behavior that human beings show is not a result of a single cause. The
behavioral pattern that human beings reveal is a culmination of a number of factors and hence
when all the levels of analysis are used, the judgment turns out to be more authentic.

How does the levels of analysis framework apply to my experiences of
studying and learning?
The process of studying and learning is common in the life of a student. Our habits
keep on changing with the change in institutions and the level of study. My life has changed
drastically right from the time that I have entered the university. This change has been more
so in the process of learning but this had remained unknown to me. It is this knowledge about
the levels of analysis framework that has helped me in understanding this behavioral change.
Biological Level
After gaining the knowledge about this level I could easily understand the behavioral
change that has taken place within me. My pattern of studying has changed as I understand
things better right before the exams. In addition to this, the minimum amount of time that we
get before our exams helps me in memorizing things quite well. So this tends to have an
effect on my behavioral pattern and I do become hyperactive. This was something that I was
not much aware of earlier but now as I have studied about it, I could easily detect the change
(Myers & Passmore 2016).
Psychological Level
The levels of analysis framework apply greatly at this level for me. I have noticed that
when I am afraid of a particular paper, I tend to score lesser marks. I always had a feeling that
the questions were tough but the reason was something else. It was the fear within me that led
to such a change and I failed to answer even those answers that were known to me. Feelings
too had a major role to play in the learning process at the University. I noticed that could
acquire things better when I was happy rather than when I was under stress.
