LITERATURE REVIEW2
Empirical Research
Empirical research is a way of attaining knowledge by the way of either indirect or
direct observation. Empirical research provides knowledge from the actual observation rather
than from the theories and beliefs. For this study articles are chosen on the topic of self-care
care activities for the newly diagnosed diabetic patients. DSMQ or the Diabetes Self-
Management Questionnaire is an important empirical tool to justify the assessment of self-
care activities that are linked with diabetes.
