AI Summary
This paper presents the design and evaluation of a mobile application for a local farm shop. The application aims to provide online access to farm products and services, including restaurant bookings. The design process followed the Nielsen Heuristic model, ensuring user-friendliness and usability. The paper discusses the design considerations, user requirements, and the influence of the Nielsen Heuristic principles on the application's interface. A comparison with a similar application, Singerhof, is also provided. The evaluation process involved feedback from other team members, leading to improvements in the design.

Abstract
The local farm shop created a mobile application to provide their services online to their
customer and the main motive of local farm shop to expand their market in the competitive
environment. The application is implemented in the Balsamiq tool in which all basic
requirement of the local farm shop is clearly visible. The design of local farm shop is
completed in four different steps In the first step two different design are created with a
different user interface out which one design is recommended. In the end phase of the design,
a clearly visible working prototype for the local farm shop is developed. In the third step, the
developed prototype is evaluated by some other team member which found some issue in the
developed design. After the evaluation, the final step takes place where all points are
implemented which are provided by the other team in the evaluation.
Introduction
The local farm shop is created to provide the farming product to the users online. The
application resolved all the issue of farming products by designing the different pages in the
application. The main pages that are created in the local farm shop application are registered
page, discount page, product category, shopping card page, location page, facility of
restaurants, book restaurants for parties etc. All the screens include some of the basic features
like the back button, logout button, home page button, breadcrumbs, footer and char option
(Berezney, R. 1991).
To design the local farm shop the Nielsen heuristic model for the user interface is completely
followed. The 10 principles that are followed by the local farm shop in their design are
Visibility of system status, Help & Documentation, Consistency and standards, Diagnose &
recover from errors, Match between system and the real world, User control and freedom,
Error prevention, Aesthetic and minimalist design, Recognition rather than recall, help users
recognize, Flexibility and efficiency of use. These principles are properly implemented in the
design to provide user-friendly interface to the users (Popovic, V., 2000).
The evaluation that is done by the other team make some changes in the design like an error
message, payment confirmation page, restaurant confirmation status, trace the location of the
nearby store. Background image etc.

Reflection of Local Farm Shop Application Interface Design
User Interface Design
The application is designed on the Balsamiq application to increase the marketing value of
the farm shop products. The customer can buy the farm products and can book the restaurants
for parties with the help of this application. Many of the screens are designed for the farm
shop that includes the logo and includes many icons like the back button, home button, log
out button etc. Each screen includes the header and footer portion and breadcrumbs that help
in the navigation of the different screens. The design that I have selected have a unique
interface design and very good navigation. The design that I have designed for the farm shop
includes the unique background colour and effects that make the user interface much
attractive. The design that is created is user-friendly as all the user requirements are cleared to
the user and they can efficiently use the application with out any restriction (McGorry, et-al,
2007).
User Requirements:
The user wants an application that they can buy all the farming products through online
medium. They demand that they can buy the all farming related products & services from this
application and also, on the other hand, they can book the restaurants from this application
without any delay. The user can retrieve their coupon codes from this application and get the
beneficiary discount. A registration page is also provided to the user so that they can register
them self on the database of the farm shop to get the advantage of their services. If the
application is not in use for the safety point of view user can easily login or logout form the
application. A help page is also provided to the user where they can easily chat with the
executive megamer of the farm shop and solve their query related to their products and
services. On the contact, us page user can also provide an feedback for the application that
they want to see in the application in the next login.
Factor Influence on the Design:
The design of the farm shop is influenced by the Nielsen Heuristic model principle. These
principles help the user to create the application design. The main advantage that these
applications get from these design that it makes the design more effective and efficient. The
Nielsen Heuristic model principle includes the following point in the application that makes it
more effective:
Visibility of system status used to create the design of the screen.
Document Page
Help & Documentation help to create the help page.
Consistency and standards are used to provide header and footer on every screen.
Diagnose & recover from errors is used in payment confirmation popup screen.
The match between system and the real world is used in the different screen that
includes different images.
Error prevention is used for in the confirmation logout popup.
Discussion on Similar Interface Design
The farm shop application provides various features to the user of the application. The
facility that is provided by the user attract the user of the farm shop, the user can redeem the
coupon code from the application they can also integrate the social media link with their
application. They can check the restaurant nearby to their location. The user can also buy the
food from the near by store (Palmer, J. W., 2002).
The similar mobile application that I have to take the help to design the farm shop is
Singerhof. This application provides the brief idea about the farming products and the
services that are needed for the farming products. This is also a similar platform that is used
to provide the farming products services through online medium. This similar interface of
Singerhof application also includes the usability principle. The user interface design is
properly mentioned and achieved in the similar interface design (Nielsen, J., & Molich, R.,
1990).
Conclusion
This farm shop application is designed for the user by which they can buy the farming
products and reaches the market to the depth. The user can buy the services of the farming
products with the help of this application. The screen that is designed for the application
includes the header and footer portion, these screens also includes the different usability
components like icons, buttons, navigation bar, chat box, back button and home button etc.
The different food and farming products category are also severed to the user with this
application. The farm shop also runs a restaurant that offers food to their customer. The
various food that is served by farm shop is also included in the application so that user can
order their food and book the table in their restaurant with the help of this application. The
user can redeem their coupons and get a very good discount. The breadcrumbs are also
included on every page of the screen so that the user can move on any screen from this
navigation bar (Petty, et-al, 1986).
