The Challenges that Connects to Location Strategies
The major challenges facing general motors as worldwide company are: existence of
brands that do not make money, existence of cuts that were all because of the withdrawal that
was marked by major global markets like the United Kingdom and Europe, and related external
factors like increasing the tariffs on steel and aluminum (Marchant, 2019)
Executive Summary
General motors are commonly referred to as GM, it is an American multinational corporation
having its headquarters in Detroit. The company carries out different designing mechanisms, it
performs manufacturing, marketing and even facilitating distribution of vehicle and its associated
parts, and has a department that deals with selling financial services. The company is doing great
however there are unescapable challenges that it is undergoing. One of the major challenges is
that there is existence of cuts that were associated with its withdrawal from major global markets
like UK and Europe. Currently, the company is moving to increase the lineup of electric cares as
they increase job opportunities in the process. It intends to produce electric vehicles.
The Article’s Focus Operational Management
The article focuses on the small but determining factor on doing away with brands that do
not add values to the company and retaining brands that brings in more money.
