This article discusses the supply chain problems faced by Lego before outsourcing their logistics to DHL. It explores the costly and complex supply chain, inaccurate demand forecasting, distribution center dispersion, and storage space wastage. It also examines how Lego attempted to address these problems through the Shared Vision Programme. The relationship between Lego and DHL is also discussed, highlighting the broken relationship and key issues to consider when contracting logistics to an outsourced 3PL logistics provider.
