1LOGISTICS AND SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT Summary A proper supply chain management is necessary for all the organisations that refer to the management of goods and services and it includes all that processes that helps in transformation of raw materials into final products (Christopher, 2016). Skyworks Solution Inc. is an American companyheadquarteredatWoburn,Massachusetts,UnitedStatesthatmanufactures semiconductors for its use in radio frequencies and mobile communication systems. It was founded in the year 1962 (Bloomberg, 2019). The company has a diverse product portfolio and it operates on a global scale. The business is geographically spread across Asia, Europe and North America and serves a customer base of 5 billion each year (Vega et al., 2016). The supply chain of Singapore unit consists of physical supply chain and information chain. The supply chain has initial supplier, sub-contractors followed by manufacturers and distributors, which is again followed by ultimate consumers. This flow chain administers that right products are delivered to right place and to right person at right time (Hugos, 2018). Skyworks Solution also performs role of distribution centre that includes transportation, inventory maintenance, order processing, product scheduling and packaging, warehousing, material handling, shipping and information maintenance (Son, Lee & Kim, 2015). The organisation aims in fulfilling customer requirements bypropertimemanagement,inventorytrackingsystem,speedydeliveryandother communication facilities (Melamed & Toledo, 2017). It follows just in time delivery and tries to avoid any delay. It ensures that products have minimum defects and that the products can be dispatched on same day. The company practices time based competition, provides multiple delivery solution and has a long term customer relationship management (Symbol, 2017). The lean and agile approaches of the company have helped it in maintaining its competitive

Conclusion It can be inferred from the above paragraphs that the organisation tries to maintain its inventory in a manner that would reduce all defects and ensures that the customers get the best quality product. It has an efficient total quality management system and inventory tracking system. The company ensures speedy delivery through its efficient communication systems. It has made partnership with several suppliers and customers in order to minimize risk in dealings and provide high quality standards to the customers. The just-in-time delivery and proper quality helps in building long term relationships. Recommendation The company needs to incorporate some major technological changes. It must have a proper network facility and a proper IT set up that would enable data security and transaction security (Gorbachov & Zhang, 2017). Investment in the IT support and application support system will help the customer access the organisation’s products and services from anywhere and a proper security protocol will help in maintaining the risks of information leakage (Breyer, Randel & Walewski, 2015) .
