2.0. Commentary by Functional Area
The company is operating in the fashion stationary products; this business has four
departments such as ‘Finance & Administration department’, ‘Sales dept & Marketing
department’, ‘Operations department’ and the ‘Inventory department’. It has been anticipated
by the general manager that the business lacks a proper supply chain management strategy. It
is also interpreted that the company is having an excess amount of inventory value.
As per the views of Myerson, (2012) the logistics management is increasing in the
competitive market and this is very important to effectively increase the performance of the
business. Generally, logistics and management involve different steps for achieving a
competitive advantage in the global market. The logistics, financial and corporate goals will
be achieved by the help of the SCM strategy.
Currently, the competitors are offering quality products at a competitive pricing but the
business is not doing that much of efforts in order to overcome this situation. Logistics
department has a very important role in the business (Christopher, 2016). Currently, the four
departments such as inventory, operation, financial and sales & marketing are actively
