Abstract
This report aims to establish various features as barriers happening to the students at
LearnEnglishUK while they are participating in the class lecture of school’s activities. This
report discusses several organizational communication theories such as behavioural,
transmission, 7 Cs, formal, written styles by which the management communicate and sends
information to the employees, students. Then, this paper explain the emotional barriers,
technological barriers, language barriers the students face at LearnEnglishUK schools.

1.0 Introduction
The students at school which teach the students form varied cultures and nations feel various
barriers while they make communication with their teachers and classmates. The barriers may be
from several contexts such as cultural, emotional, language barriers, physical barriers, noise
barriers, technological barriers. Technology in the infrastructural construction of their building
hinder the concentration of the students in winter and summer at school. The face bitter cold
having no insulation system in the school building rooftops. This report will discuss these several
barriers and solutions to these effectively.
2.0 Analysis and discussion
2.1 Some general theories of organisational communication
Formal theory of communication
Formal communication requires the defined structure of transferring news, notices, and message
to the receiver within an organizational culture. The formal communication is the official system
of transmitting data through a secured medium (Cragan et al., 2019). In this communication
system, the information is delivered through a controlled systematic way and the sender analyse
the message deliberately and then sends. The formal communication happens within a
hierarchical structure and management maintaining chain of command. This type of
communication may be built through several systems such as Notice Boards, Speeches,
Organizational blogs, Emails from managers and leaders Memos, Intranet, Meetings,
Conferences, Letters, Presentations etc.
Written Communication theory
Written Communication within a workplace means the sending of commands, direction,
application or request, orders or messages, instructions in writing using several media like
circulars, manuals, letters, reports, office memos, telegrams, bulletins, etc. The written
communication is worthier to maintain organizational communication and manage the officers,
and employees (PEOPLEGOAL, 2020). The marketers prefer the written communication for
business treaties and agreement building are the major communication sources of the business.

Behavioural theory of communication
Behavioural communication is the better method in the workplace culture to communicate t-with
the various stakeholder like customers, shareholder, investors in a more generous way to attract
them to busines or specific needs of the products and services they newly penetrate in the
marketplace (Crossman, 2020). In this communication, the individual expresses his views and
attitudes to others in gentlest way that logically impresses the listeners. The marketers and
performers in the business share their feelings, expectations, thoughts, and needs with the
customers and managers with the employees (Varey, 2017). The behavioural communication
may be assertive, aggressive, and passive for the business promotion and development.
Transmission model
The users apply the transmission model in the business through a one-way and in rectilinear
methods to encrypt a message, direction, voice, signs etc. and conveys ideas using several
networks to recipients such as their stakeholders like customer employee who decodes that
information and data. This method helps the marketers to send messages directly and command
the subordinates. The managers direct the instructions to be performed by the employees.
7 C’s communication theory
In the process of 7 C’s communication the business and organization adopts 7 characteristics and
components to communicate with their stakeholders and directors. The business owners use the
techniques to express their messages by applying 7 ways like clear, concrete, concise, correct,
complete, coherent, and courteous.
2.2 Evaluate the barriers of communication at LearnEnglishUK
Language barrier
The students from varied cultures faces the language barriers in the schools, college, universities
while they communicate with the native English. The students outside the England and USA
generally faces this barrier while they talk to their teachers and classmates from native English.
The students at LearnEnglishUK feels nervous and annoyed with the staffs and classmate’s
communication (Willkomm, 2020). The staff at LearnEnglishUK speaks only English in the
office though there are several nation’s and language students. The authority too face bars to
communicate the multi-lingual students while servings and providing information and education.

Emotional barriers
Emotional barriers cover several psychological factors of the students. They often face some
barriers like Stress, loneliness, homesickness, depression/anxiety etc. when they go to abroad for
study purposes (Willkomm, 2020). The students at LearnEnglishUK has bitter experiences of the
emotional barriers. The schools both in Manchester and London have the students from varied
countries. They cannot afford firstly to understand the language by the native and depressed by
this. They cannot share feelings and thought. So, the students feel loneliness and homesickness
also creates extra stress.
Lack of experiences
Less experience or no experienced students cannot afford to search and finding schools
considering the barriers that obviously hinder the educational process and concentration of
communication at schools (Willkomm, 2020). Like sound proof education environmental
searching and managing for language learning purpose is important. The building of
LearnEnglishUK arse old in establishment having no proper insulation and temperature
regulators in the structures.
Technological barriers
The technology covers the education with materials modification, communication devices
modernization, networking technology development like Wi-Fi and CCTV management in the
school campus. These help the students in the residential education system and abroad education
purpose (Williams, 2020). The students at LearnEnglishUK campus face these as barriers of poor
Wi-Fi signals bother them while they connect their families and friends behind at home. They
feel loneliness in the School while they are learning language.
Cultural barriers
The cultural barriers include Cultural differences among the staffs, students, classmates and
tutors at school campus that hinder multi-lingual student’s communication with them (Williams,
2020). The cultural diversity amongst the students and teachers at LearnEnglishUK cause the
foreign students making friendship, sharing meals and foods, thought etc. that make them
depressed and alone in the schools’ premises.

2.0 Recommendation
The barriers found and the management at LearnEnglishUK needs to adopt several strategies to
overcome their communication barriers at schools with the students. The authority should apply
several communication models to fill the communication gaps.
Overcoming language barriers
The management can use 7 C’s communication model to ensure proper communication with the
students. As the core elements of the model includes clear, concise, correct, concrete, complete,
coherent, and courteous of the letters or documents so that the students can clearly understand
the theme and directions ((Mulvenney, 2018)). The voices should be very concise to understand
and the teacher should use body language and gestures in a courteous way to impress the
learners. The school authority can hire multilingual staffs, offer training to their existed staffs on
diverse language to communicate with and support the diverse language students.
Overcoming emotional barriers
The school authority to overcome emotional barriers from the students while learning languages
at LearnEnglishUK campus, can apply behavioural model of communication to ensure them with
best behaviours ensuring and dignifying the values, manners, and cultures of the students. The
behavioural communication in an organizational procedure help the staffs and teachers to
communicate gently and express their ideas, concepts by applying smarter styles of behaviour
and though in an informal way (Mulvenney, 2018). The managers can teak effective measures
for setting stronger Wi-Fi routers in the campus. 24 hours CCTV monitoring can help the
students ensuring safety and security. Experienced and stronger guarding systems can assure the
students overcoming the loneliness barrier. The management to overcome the student’s
emotional barriers can arrange several indoor sports hall and tournaments to recreate them in the
campuses.
Increasing experiences
Both the students and authority can acquire experiences by establishing the school building in a
modern technological structure. They can ensure insulation and set green method to create
insulation in the building to protect them from cold and hot weather (WABISABI, 2020). The
students can gain experience from the modern technology applied campus by LearnEnglishUK
so that they can be assured of the student find the proper institute that can help the students

gaining noise and stress-free education and motivations. The authority can take feedback from
the guardians and students so that they can adopt proper steps and measures to support them
well, and initiatives more.
Overcoming Technological barriers
Technological barriers at the school’s campus hinder largely the learning process of the students
at LearnEnglishUK. The management can set Stronger Wi-Fi, superspeed internet connection,
broadbands cables, and routers and repeater that promote the speed of internet signals in the
workplace and campus ((Mulvenney, 2018)). The authority to overcome their technological
barriers can establish virtual learning platforms like videoconferencing, ZOOM applications and
connect the students. GPS tracking and location finder software can help the students to find the
location of the school campus. So, the safety activities by the application of software can help the
authority and management.
4.0 Conclusion
This report discussed the addressed topics on the business communication process based on the
scenarios of the LearnEnglishUK campuses and schooling in Manchester and London. This
report found that the students at schools face several barriers that breaks the concentration while
they take part in education and classrooms. The students commonly face the barriers like
language barrier, emotional barriers, noise barrier, temperature barrier, insulation barriers in the
LearnEnglishUK campuses. This report summarized the key solutions to the issued recognized
by the students not returning the campus as regular basis.
