Talent management is referred as a process which is helping organisation to retain
employees in a business for a longer period of time. It is a great way to help organisations to
achieve all their objectives along with increasing their productivity and profits in business.
There are a number of processes that are used by organisations on a continuous basis that
allows them to make sure that they are attracting skilled and experiences employees in the
organisation and retaining them for a longer period of time so that they can bring benefits for
the business (Rahimiaghdam, 2018). This is a great way that helps in bringing creativity and
innovation in the organisation as well. Employees should be provided with compensation and
encouragement that will also increase employee’s engagement within the business. In the
following research a retail organisation Sainsbury’s is taken into consideration. The
organisation was established in 1869 and John James was founder of this huge retail chain.
The organisation is successfully set up worldwide with more than 1400 stores in different
countries. There are various talent management approaches that are used by organisation to
retain employees for a longer period of time.

To understand the meaning and concept of talent management
According to Maurya and Agarwal (2018), talent management is a systematic process
with the help of which organisation is making sure to reduce their employees turnover and
retain the employees in the organisation for a longer period of time. In order to do so the
recruitment process of organisation is to be systemised so that only skilled employees who
can fulfil the required duties of vacant positions are employed in the organisation. Employs in
the organisation are bringing various benefits to the business by conducting all the activities
and goals. It is necessary to retain talented employees so that the productivity of organisation
can be increased and all the objectives of the organisation can be fulfilled successfully. The
talent management of employees also helps in achieving satisfaction within the customers as
talented employees will successfully satisfy all the customers of the organisation. It is
necessary to implement functional talent management strategy in the organisation with the
help of with the managers can take care of all the employees and align the individual
employee goals to the overall organisational goals. It is also required by organisation to make
sure that whatever weekend positions in the organisation at present or field with skilled and
experienced employee who can help the organisation in its further growth. In order to do this
various promotional strategies and recruitment strategies are used by the managers in the
organisation. If the present workforce of organisation is encouraged and satisfied they can
successfully act more productively and attract talent towards the organisation successfully.

different motivations. This can be monetary or non-monetary benefits for the employees.
Monitory benefits include bonus and rewards for the employees whereas non-monitory
benefits refer to appraisals and promotions. Along with this there are also a number of
training and development programs through which employees can be retained in employees.

need to face a number of different challenges while they are implementing these practices.
They have to apply huge efforts and capital in order to retain employees in the organisation.
When taking Sainsbury the organisation is employing huge number of employees in all their
retail stores throughout the world. The employees in the organisation are from different
cultures due to which understanding their needs and motivating them becomes difficult for
the managers. It is necessary to understand the perception of all the employees in order to
take steps so that they can be retained in the organisation. But understanding these perception
can be difficult for the organisations due to different values and believes of all the employees.
Also after this in order to develop various training programmes experts are required by the
organisation which requires a lot of time and efforts.

Scope: The following research have a scope which will help this organisation to
understand various ways in which they can successfully develop strategies to retain talent and
attract talent towards the organisation (Hughes, 2018). Various challenges organisation might
face and ways to deal with these challenges are also a scope included in the research
conducted.

Project cost: The amount required by the researcher to successfully complete the
research is known as the project cost. The following research required €500 in order to be
conducted successfully including all the expenses that were borne by researcher to draw
conclusions from the research.
Communication: A research include team effort of more than one people. It is

respondents of the questionnaire so that proper information can be collected and results can
be drawn with the help of information that is collected.
Project resources: A number of different resources are used while conducting a
research so that results can be formed in given time period. The following research required
human resource, various technical resources along with stationery, mobile phones, computer
system and so on. All these were various resources that researcher used to complete the
research.

following research and complete it. The following research was time taking as collecting
primary data and drawing conclusions for it requires efforts and time.
Quality: Quality is an important factor which can define whether the research is
reliable or not. The researcher needs to make sure that quality is maintained throughout the
research that is from choosing data that is secondary as well as collecting primary data. All
this will successfully help the researcher to enhance quality of the overall research.
Work breakdown structure: WBS refers to a project management tool that is
allowing researchers to divide all the tasks in the research within into small activities. This
approach will successfully help the researcher to make sure that they are successfully
fulfilling all the needs and requirements to draw conclusion from the research successfully.
Gantt chart: Gantt chart is a graphical tool that is used by researcher while
conducting a research in order to make sure that the tasks are allotted times in order to

staff of Sainsbury so that proper management of company can be present. There is need to

have used both primary and secondary data for completing the research properly. I have good
communication and decision making skills which have helped me to complete the research in
less time. I have completed the research in proper manner to have effective management.
