Part 1
Introduction
In this report we will conduct an in depth analysis of the enterprise agreement of organization
chosen in my previous assignment, i.e., Dematic Private Limited. The aim of the company is
to improve process, material flow automation and performance optimization. The company
has employed more than 7000 employees worldwide (Demantic, 2019). It provides a fast
paced career to its employees that come with challenges from dynamic business environment.
The team aims to optimize the supply chain and work hard until the customer is fully
satisfied. They are committed to have a transparent pay system and do not discriminate
between their employees under any circumstance (Dematic, n.d.).
Key highlights of enterprise agreement
The enterprise agreement is the Employee Collective Workplace Agreement and is known as
the Dematic Private Limited - Hume DC Enterprise Agreement 2018 (Agreement). It covers
the employer, employee, Australian Manufacturing Workers Union and Communications,
Electrical and Plumbing Union of Australia. Dematic is a one to one solution provider of
integrated automated technology software and services to ensure an optimum supply chain.
The agreement follows all the bare minimum employment necessities that are prescribed by
the National Employment Standards. It outlines the minimum conditions for employment for
the workers employed in the region of Victoria. It prescribes the employees are supposed to
abide by directions given by Dematic in a lawful manner. It outlines the features and basic
terms for full-time employment, part-time employment, probationary employment, and casual
employment.
The employees covered under this agreement are working at Woolworth Distribution Centre,
Hume. However, this location can be changed at any other place by Dematic. The detailed
terms and conditions for superannuation have been set in accordance with superannuation
regulations. There is a provision of a total three types of shifts, i.e., roster shift, day shift, and
night shift. Overtime may be required for reasonable hours and the allowance is payable only
if the extended hours are worked after prior approval. In case of an urgent requirement, the
employee may be asked to work on public holidays, and premium compensation will be
payable on such overtime.
Terms upon the events when consultation is required is set for the major changes occurring in
the organization regarding working hours, annual leave and shutdown, annual leave loading,
