Introduction
Yoga refers to a systematic physical exercise and practices which are helpful to maintain
appropriate health condition of an individual. It includes set of different aspects including
physical exercise, breath control, relaxation, diet control, meditation and positive thinking that
impact positively on health (Tsai, 2016). It is observed that practices of yoga are much effective
to deal with different types of acute as well as chronic diseases. However, it includes the
criterion of conducting yoga activities per day in the morning and evening with proper steps that
facilitate to maintain health condition appropriate (Kwasky and Serowoky, 2018). The yoga can
be consider as an effective approach that is responsible for maintain physical as well as mental
health condition. It has been analysed that yoga is responsible for developing harmony in human
body, mind and atmosphere (Raina and Singh, 2018). There are various kinds of yoga activities
and practices which are specifically categorised to overcome with different types of diseases like
high blood pressure, obesity, asthma, diabetes and so on. It consist the way of carry out yoga
practices on regular basis with following proper procedures as well as steps in order to overcome
with particular health issues. It can be used as a traditional therapy in terms of reducing various
kinds of pain in body (Saradananda, 2017). Meanwhile, the yoga is beneficial in terms of solving
severe physical and mental health problems to regain desired health. It includes the criterion of
intake several physical activities with the help of using herbs and shrubs as a source of medicine
in order to treat the problem of health. It includes the basic utilisation of plants and their parts
including flower, fruit, leaves, stem and root. The medication use with yoga exercise for patients
are mostly extracted from different types of plants by making its table or powdered form for
wellbeing of them(Lynn, 2016).

In respect of this investigation, it is based on the topic of “Is yoga as effective as traditional
physical therapy in reducing lymphedema in patients who had head and neck cancer treatment?”
it includes to consider the aim of research is ‘to analyse the effectiveness of yoga as traditional
physical therapy in reducing lymphedema in patients who had head and neck cancer treatment’.
This research will focus on the basic understanding about yoga and its practices which are

helpful to treat different kinds of severe health problems accordingly (Acevedo, Pospos and
Lavretsky, 2016). It is known that yoga is slow process to heal any disease but is much effective
to heal the actual cause of acute and chronic disease to make an individual healthy. It is
necessary to make appropriate criterion including a set of yoga activities which are suitable for
specific health issue that recommend to desired person for their wellbeing. It important gets
suggestion from a yoga expert to carry out respective yoga practices in an accurate manner for
gaining better outcomes for health. This study will also include the benefits of yoga by
considering it a traditional therapy for maintain health of people (Padhy, 2016). It is beneficial to
use yoga exercise on regular basis in order to avoid health issues. This will consist description of
impact of yoga as traditional therapy in terms of reducing the problem of lymphedema among
people who has head and neck cancer treatment. The analysis of rile of care practitioners in
respect of providing traditional therapy of yoga for improving health is given here.
