Introduction
In the modern world, it is necessary that every organisation motivate its employees so
that they can gain the best results out of them. These results can be in the form of loyalty of
the employees or for an improvement in the performance level of the employees. Leadership
is important for the development of the employees along with certain motivational tools so
that employees can be provided with significant encouragement for success (Bolman and
Terrence 23). The essay provides focus on the application of Malcolm Baldrige National
Quality Award for the motivation of the employees and the manner in which it can help
organisations to develop its competence in the market. The award is presented to the
organisation that fulfils the criteria required for qualifying and being eligible for receiving the
award. The essay highlights the driving force behind the excellence of organisational success.
The focus of the essay is on a case study based on Collin Technologies and the application of
the model by the organisation. The business risk that can be possible from the application of
the model is analysed in detail in the essay. The major focus of Collin Technologies is also

Discussion
Using the experience received after working at a financial institution it can be said
that the application of the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award model is essential for
the development of organisational success. The driving force behind the application of the
model is the fact that it provides an analysis of the factors that contribute towards the
development of the organisation by taking into consideration various success criteria. These
criteria include leadership, ethical consideration and the social responsibility that is
undertaken. It has been seen that these three criteria are linked with one another and it is

important to understand the necessary actions that need to be taken so that the application of
the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award model can be done efficiently (Northouse 66).
The driving forces identified provide evidence that in order to be successful in the
market every organisation needs to take into consideration the factors influence competitors.
In the case of financial sectors, the application of factors related to corporate social
responsibility is essential so that the financial companies can complement the growth of
proper reputation at the market. The development of the model provides companies with the
unique ability to remain effective despite its problems in trying to establish its strategies at
the market (Antonakis and David 90). At the same time, the other driving forces such as the
leadership and ethical consideration can provide financial companies with an opportunity to
remain effective in the market by gaining an advantage over the competitors.
As stated earlier, the three driving forces are linked with one another in a way that
each of the three factors provide companies with an opportunity to improve. It has been stated
that without proper leadership, ethical consideration among the community cannot be
maintained and at the same time, it can be difficult to understand the responsibilities that need
to be undertaken so that proper motivation of the society can be made for the development of
an organisation (Fairhurst and Stacey 667). In the case of financial companies, it is essential
that the leadership be directed at proper maintaining of the profits so that part of it can be
used for the development of the society by maintaining ethical consideration such as equal
distribution of wealth and education in the society.
Keeping the factors in mind, focus can be shifted to the case of Collins so that the
overall organisational excellence can be attained. It has been seen that the vision and values
of Collins is to ensure that more focus in emphasised on the development of social
responsibility as well as the sustainability in the society. Again it can be said that these
