Lack of understanding by the employees regarding the basic workplace ethics
compelled one of the employees to encounter the tragic instance of death. As a
matter of specification, there was a meeting between the managers and the
employees in the conference room regarding the introduction of policies. The
simple issue of differentiation in opinion, the employees started fighting amongst

each other, which went to such an extent, that one of the employees died on spot.
Here, one of the striking facts is the silence of the managers. Absence of
accidental policies and insurances reflects the lackadaisical attitude of the
managers towards the wellbeing of the employees.
Describe the outcome (harm/ health effects/ damage)
At one point of time, one of the employees became unconscious. Desperate
attempts to bring back his sense failed, which compelled the managers to take
the employee to hospital. Upon evaluation of the CCTV camera, it was seen that
the other employee had a sharp weapon hidden in his ring. Examination of this
ring excavated that it was pointed, which hit the employee in his head, leading to
his death. This was due to the inability of the employee to fight back the sharp
blows of the other employee. Even the family members of the employee were
informed very late. Here, one of the striking facts is that the family members had
to bear all of the hospital charges.
Describe corrective measures taken to address immediate hazards related
to incident
(if relevant)
After this incident, the managers took the initiative to introduce accidental policies
for the employees. Taking this step, well in advance would have exempted the
family members from paying a single penny for the loss of their loved one.
Moreover, exposing strictness in implementation of the policy would not have
resulted in the loss of the employee. Along with this, the managers implemented
the emergency helpline numbers and the officers, who will be in charge of the
calls, which will come through these numbers.
These steps reflect the immature behavior of the managers towards the
workplace events. This immaturity is against the workplace ethics, setting a bad
example for the employees in terms of their professional development.

A. Self-assessment - what knowledge or skills do I need to learn more about this year?
I need to learn more about the proper ways and means of doing a research. For this, I
need patience for referring to as many sources as possible. Along with this, I also
need to learn about the research ethics, so that I may be able to produce authentic,
valid and reliable research. Here there are lots to learn like plagiarism, collusion,
harmful consequences among others. Apart from this, I also need to learn about the
effective ways and means of conducting self-assessment. Achieving quality learning
on this topic would upgrade my performance up to the extent of benchmark level of
performance needed in the workplace.
B. Proposed learning activities – what can I do to meet my learning needs this year?

uplifting my preconceived skills, knowledge and expertise as per the requirements of
the company. Along with this, making effective and judicious usage of the concept of
search engine optimization would expose me to the various sites on my requirements.
Within this, I need to select the site, which matches my requirements. Even in this
learning is required, which can be fulfilled through the practical application of the skills
and abilities learnt in the personality development classes. Even consideration of the
peer opinions and reviews can be effective for me in terms of meeting the planned
learning needs.
C. Completed learning activities – what did I do during the year to meet my learning
needs?
Assessment of the performance is crucial in terms of achieving improvements. For
this, consideration of checklists and templates is beneficial as it enhances my clarity
about the performance I exposed throughout the year. Viewing it from the other
perspective, allotment of time to each performance can be considered as my
confidence regarding completion of the tasks in an efficient and effective manner.
Apart from this, this assessment is necessary for checking the drawbacks if any.
Consciousness in this direction reflects the exposure of matured behaviour by me in
terms of creating a positive image in the minds of the managers.
D. Evaluation – after completing my learning activities, what change (s) do I see my
practice/ knowledge?
Evaluation has enhanced my clarity that I failed to conduct thorough research for the
topics allocated to me. My researchs lacked depth and it seemed very general. Along
with this, I became nervous during the presentations, which nullifies the skills, which I
had learnt in the personality development classes. This has made the managers
concerned about my performance. I myself am worried regarding making up for the
mistakes. Spontaneity in modification of the mistakes is needed for improving my
performance. Rationality in this direction would be wise act for me in terms of altering
the perception of the managers about my performance.

Careless attitude of the cleaning staffs took a toll on one of the employees. This
carelessness compelled the employee to get admitted in hospital, which
adversely affected his performance.
Describe the outcome (harm/ health effects/ damage)
An employee was going to the stage for giving a speech. Unfortunately, he
slipped on the stairs, as the stairs was wet with washing powder. As a result, he
received severe injuries in his spinal cord. He was admitted in the hospital.
Describe corrective measures taken to address immediate hazards related
to incident
(if relevant)
Out of the managers present in the company, only one of the managers took the
initiative to take the employee to the hospital. The rest of them were concerned
about the work, which was left unfinished. The contribution of the fourth class
staffs is mentionable here. They spontaneously called the ambulance and took
the employee to the hospital. They were in constant supervision of the progress of
the employee. They personally informed the managers about the condition of the
employee. In view of the intensity of the incident, the manager decided to
introduce strict action against the staffs being careless while on duty.

E. Self-assessment - what knowledge or skills do I need to learn more about
this year?
I need to learn the basic communication skills, which is to be exposed in the
workplace. Along with this, I need to develop a deeper understanding about
the basic ways and means of making effective and judicious utilization of the
available resources. Here, I need to develop knowledge regarding the
production of producing quality work through the resources, which I have. This
is irrespective of the fact that I have fewer resources, which may not fulfil my

F. Proposed learning activities – what can I do to meet my learning needs this

In order to fulfill my needs, I need to start saving the money, which I spent on
buying the essential things, which I need. Putting the saved money in the
piggy bank would help me to keep a track of the money, which I am spending
and the money, which I am saving. I also need to gain knowledge about
creative thinking, which would help me to show my creativity with the
resources available with me. Here, intellectual intelligence is crucial in terms
of making appropriate creativity in the execution of the workplace operations.

preconceived communication skills and abilities.
G. Completed learning activities – what did I do during the year to meet my
learning needs?
Throughout the year, I was engaged in using money and resources in a
limited manner. For this, I purchased a piggy bank, wherein I put in the
money, which I saved. I applied this technique in my diet plans also. I ate as
per my appetite requirements. I tried making innovative things with the
resources available to me like paper work from the unused papers, origami
from the discarded gift papers among others. Apart from this, I also went to
the Spoken English classes.
H. Evaluation – after completing my learning activities, what change (s) do I see
my practice/ knowledge?
After evaluation, I found that I had saved more than 40% of my income. I
bought limited things, according to my requirements. This saving mode
benefitted me in terms of making judicious use of the available resources.
Even when I was not wanting to save, I had an unconscious instigation to
save for making effective utilization of the fewer resources, which was
present in my surroundings. Going to the Spoken English classes proved
beneficial for me in terms of altering my overall personality. In other words,
these classes brought to the forefront my matured image, which, I think is
perfect for handling the human resource operations of the workplace.
