INTRODUCTION
In present time it is important to create balance between personal and professional life.
There is required to manage work place priorities and focus on the professional development
activities which is achieved through improve skills and knowledge of employees. Professional
development to an employee is a continuous activity that is achieved by involving in various
activities. In this project Woolworth organisation is selected to elaborate the concept of work
place priorities and professional development. Woolworth operates in supermarkets since 1924
and possess headquarters in Australia with 995 other locations. In this project report plan for
personal work goals project, plan with priorities project is prepared. Together with this
professional development presentations and professional development report is prepared and
described under the project report.
ASSESSMENT 1
1. Explain the concept of self appraisal and how it contribute in reviewing performance
Self appraisal is the evaluation of individual of their own actions & activity. Here, after
evaluating themselves worker gives feedback for their performances. Individual critically
analyse their results in terms of strengths as well as weaknesses. If they required any
improvement then it will be fulfil through providing various training. It helps in contributing
individual performance through self assessment and it beneficial for organization to identify the
area of improvement. Self appraisal will be based on various skills such as communication,
problem solving, team work, decision making etc.
2. Explain the concept of peer appraisal and its benefits
It is a form of 360 degree feedback where peers gives feedback about individual and their
performances in the organization. Peer appraisal provide a prospective which helps the
individual to grow and achieve their goals & objectives in the workplace. This appraisal is the
part of performance appraisal peers, subordinates, superior, team leader asked to give feedback
about individual performance. It provide various benefits such as encourage more inclusive team
dynamic where peers have deeper insight about individual. Along with this, it encourage the
development through sharing gaols. It helps the manager to understand individual performance
which further impact production or profitability.

Work planning is most important and required activity because it helps the people to
accomplished their work in the organization and help the manager to manage all the activities
regarding task. There are various benefits of planning work and some of them discussed below:
Accountability: Managers or leaders have to be accountable for their actions or activities
which they performance in the organization. After work planning, they have to accountable for

determine their progress.
A (Achievable): It is very important to know that goals must be achievable and it will
helps in analysing the way of performing. Impossible work not consider under goals.
R (Realistic): Goal should be practical which is possible to achieve with relevant
resources.
T (Timely): Every goals should have time bound from the beginning to the end. If goals
does not have time limit then there is no sense on urgency or motivation to achieve it.

Pareto principle is an theory which introduce by Vilfredo Pareto and this concept become
popular as personal time management. According to this principle, individual have to identify the
cause of problem and give efforts around 20% and it further helps in fixing 80% of those

productive as they required. Under this principle, it helps the person to set their priories as per
time and reduce waste time in order to control or focus on valuable resources.

Stress will cause mental or emotional problems which impact individual's health. There
are five signs of stress which discussed below:
Acne: It is most active or visible way of stress and it will happen due to frequent touch to
their face. It will spread bacteria all over the face and contribute in the development of acne.
Headaches: It is medically tested that, stress contribute in terms of headaches and it will
be characterised through pain in head and near by area.
Chronic pain: Regular stress will result aches & pain and it is very common in the young
generation.

It is the concept that describing epitome where individual have to split their work and
other important aspect in terms of time & energy. In order to achieve work-life balance,
individual have to face various challenges where they have to separated their time for work,
family, community, personal growth etc. These are the basis demand of work life balance
because most of the employees want personal, professional or monetary needs to balance their
work as well as life. If individual balance work-life then it will reduce employees stress as well.

Define purpose: If individual wanted to balance their work life and reduce stress then
they have to set purpose for their life which motivate individual to fulfil it.
Create space: Individual have to make space for personal or professional commitments
