Explain the concept of self-appraisal and how can it contribute to a performance review.
The concept of self appraisal refers to the ability of a person to effectively perform a self
performance review. The performance of the review is generally termed as an integral part of the
performance appraisal of an individual.
The self performance review has a number of different benefits. The review helps the people to
get a clear knowledge as well as an insight into their own performance and also provides them
the required confidence to take up their own responsibilities.
Explain the concept of peer appraisal and outline one benefit of peer appraisal.
The assessment of the different employees in a business organization by his colleagues in the
office or the workplace is termed as peer appraisal. The appraisal is conducted by the colleagues
who regularly communicate with the employees. the following process generally excludes the
different superiors or the managers of the business organization.
Some of the major benefits of peer appraisal are as follows;
a. Encourages recognition- The providence of feedback for the individuals helps to
encourage recognition for the different peer reviewed persons.
b. Facilitates accountability to improve performance- The individuals who receive
feedback on their performance from the peers receives the valuable insight into their
different strengths and the developmental needs. This kind of feedback helps the
individual to improve the performance.

operations of the business. Plans can help the organization to have an exact idea on which

b. Basis for Teamwork- The presence of plans helps to achieve teamwork as because the
plans help the organization to form team to ensure the achievement of long term goals.
c. Concentration on objectives and results- The presence of proper and effective plans
helps the people to carry them out concentrating on the on the anticipated results.

The acronyms for SMART in relation to the goal of the company are as follows;
a. Specific- The specific goals of the company will be precise, well defined and transparent
goals that can help the organization to achieve the business goals.
b. Measurable- The Measurable goals of the organization refers to the progress of the
organization along with keeping the goals of the organization on track with the needs of
the customers.
c. Acceptable- The realistic and attainable targets of the business must be formulated by the

by the people results from 20% of all the causes. The time management is one of the most
