Assessment Task 1: Knowledge questions
Information for students
Knowledge questions are designed to help you demonstrate the knowledge which you have acquired
during the learning phase of this unit. Ensure that you:
review the advice to students regarding answering knowledge questions in the Business Works
Student User Guide
comply with the due date for assessment which your assessor will provide
adhere with your RTO’s submission guidelines
answer all questions completely and correctly
submit work which is original and, where necessary, properly referenced
submit a completed cover sheet with your work
avoid sharing your answers with other students.
Assessment information
Information about how you should complete this assessment can be found in Appendix
A of the Business Works Student User Guide.Refer to the appendix for information on:
where this task should be completed
the maximum time allowed for completing this assessment task
whether or not this task is open-book.
Note: You must complete and submit an assessment cover sheet with your work. A
template is provided in Appendix C of the Student User Guide. However, if your RTO
has provided you with an assessment cover sheet, please ensure that you use that.

Questions
Provide answers to all of the questions below:
1. Outline one positive impact of group dynamics on team performance and one negative impact of
group dynamic on team performance.
Ans: Positive impact: Group dynamic allow team to achieve commo n goal with one specific
decision.
Negative impact: Group dynamic impact team performance because every individual carry sensible
behaviour providing their own viewpoint and disagreeing on common decision.
2. Explain why a team would need a team performance plan.
Ans: Every team need to carry team performance plan which allow member to identified weak
area including their own performance as well, performance plan will include certain KPI (Key
Performance Indicators).
3. Complete the table below to show various methods that can be used to help overcome the following
scenarios:
The team needs to complete a project by a
certain deadline.
Aims and objective will be provided
which allow team to meet the deadline.
The team members do not understand the
reason for undertaking the project or their
own involvement in it.
Training and development will be
provided to the team member allowing
them to understand why their
involvement is beneficial.
The team members are a diverse group and
have many different outcomes in mind. They
are struggling to organise themselves as a
team.
Team leadership is needed which allow
leader to highlight strength of carrying
diversity in a team leading success.
The team are struggling to communicate
effectively. There have been a few
miscommunications lately as some
employees are using email and some are
verbally providing updates and then
Training will be provided to team member
in terms of increasing communication
and providing better result.
