Introduction
The project write up involves case scenarios from three emergency cases often
occasioned in the work place organization. The review here discusses the incidences taking
place in the organization which calls for emergency precaution among the health worker
staff. The review calls for hazard and risks assessments which in cooperates the nature of the
work. The write up further incorporates review of work health and safety assessments and
actions plan which guide management of hazards and emergencies. Finally based on the
emergencies in the case scenarios, the write up will inco-operate outdoor based activity
aligned towards personal protective equipment.
Incidences report
From the scenarios there are three case emergencies which includes; a disable patient
who experiences fall as he/she is going in the daily activities and the case is reported by the a
resident who approaches one of the work health and safety staff. The second incident
involves a resident who has had an emergency which he/she has been bitten by a spider, at
this juncture, work healthy and safety officer is responsible in ensuring that first aid is
administered, whoever the resident runs away before any emergency care is provided. Lastly
as the resident tries to get out of the gate, he/she encounters men in black who happen to be
federal police, who stormed in the organization with guns, following leads that there might be
illegal activities going on in the vicinity. After calm resumes the police interrogates everyone
as the workers resume their duties of ensuring safety for the residents.
Hazard and Risk management
When planning for a rsik hazrd management it is important to note that risk aversion plan is
essential for moral hazard problem based on Fraser (2002). Management plan will entail five
basic processes which includes;
1. Establishing context of the incidences in the case scenarios which revolves around
the objectives and identification of key elements of the incidence.
2. Identifying the risks
- In this case, the identification of the three incidences scenarios from the case
studies.
- Hazard analysis of both scenarios and failure to act as WHS worker can lead to
loss of live and more harm and injury especially to spider bites and resident fall
from the wheel chair.

- This will involve reviewing the available controls, assessing the likelihood of the
incidences reoccurring and assessing the level of risks it portrays.
4. Evaluating the risks available and posed by the incidence to the residents
5. Finally treating the risks through identification of options selecting the responses
and developing risks treatment plans and defining implementation plans.
Work health and safety action plan
An identifiable action plan to be effected for the case incident involves undertaking
workplace inspection for identifying any slip or fall hazards and implementing controls to
eliminate work place falls. Further there is need to strengthen workers skills in management
of first aid with regard to resident’ bite by the spider and ensuring that a patient calms down
for effective first aid preparation application, (Castañeda, et al., 2005).
Strategies for hazard 1 for disable resident
1. Ensuring that there is always a free wheel chair which can be used to assist
anyone, in case the one used is fragile
2. Calling for support and assisting the resident while you’re more than assistant so
as not to cause more harm and injury to the patient at hand
3. Nursing any injuries which might have been encountered by the patient while he
was falling from the wheel chair.
Strategies for hazard 2 resident with snake bite
1. Ensuring that you wear protective cloves while assisting the patient so as not to
encounter any contamination or infection cases
2. Assuring the patient for calmness while the condition is being managed.
3. Rolling out first aid to the affected part while applying the necessary antibiotic
ointment to avoid infection
Strategies for hazard 3 for police intrusion into the facility
1. Inform the management as soon as possible
2. Calm the residents inside and assure them of their safety
3. Try to approach the policies and seek clarification on the matter of investigation
Outdoor activity for management of emergency incidences
This engagement will be effected with the use of personal protective equipment which
will act as a barrier between the case incident and the worker, (Beam et al., 2011 ). It is aimed
towards protective the worker from contamination. For this case there is need to provide the
workers with gloves which will be essential in handling the first aid victim and used also to

help the resident in returning back to the wheel chair. This will protect the worker from any
contamination whatsoever. Thus before application of assistance to the resident who
encounters any emergency need, staff will be required to put on their protective gloves.
Conclusion
Hence from the case scenarios it has provided a comprehensive review of how to affect
hazard management plan. The five steps for hazard and risks plan is crucial for handling
emergency cases. For managing emergencies an implementable action plan is essential for
ensuring that emergencies are handled effectively. The challenges experienced in tackling
this assignment entails having to figure out the task and roles of a health worker staff in
ensuring that clear roles are define to handle emergencies. The positive attributes of this
project is that it has built my understanding work health and safety in organization
management. Thus completion of this task has been crucial in managing emergency situation
and preparedness.
