Introduction
Pokhara is situated in Nepal in Gandaki
Pradesh which is the metropolitan city. It is
the second-largest city of Nepal in terms of
the area and the population. This city is the
tourism capital of Nepal as there are large
ranges of the Himalayas. Pokhara is just 120
miles away from the Kathmandu and it
serves the headquarters of the Kaski District.
The three highest mountain of the world,
Annapurna Range, Dhaulagiri, and Manasly
is situated at Pokhara. There are large
numbers of the Gurkha soldiers live there
and it is considered as their home city. In
this report, the number of visitors in Pokhara
and their accommodations is evaluated. The
report will also identify the impact of
tourism on the GDP of the country (Parajuli
and Paudel, 2014).

it is evaluated that there
are around 203785
numbers of tourist come
via land and 969287
tourists come via air to
Nepal. There was the rise
of the Chinese tourist in
Nepal as more than the
50000 Chinese tourists
visited Nepal. As per the
board of Nepal, the tourist
generally comes at the
peak season between the
month of the October and
November. The tourist
growth rate was increased
by 23 percent (Bhandari,
2018). A large number of
tourist in Nepal comes
from India between the
month of November and
December. As per the
current fiscal year, in the
month of the mid-July,
there were around 144195
foreign visitors which
visited the Pokhara and
most of them were the
Indians as around 58895.
In the Dashain season, the
rise in the domestic tourist
has been seen in the
Pokhara. Not only foreign
but the domestic tourist is
also get attracted towards
the destination of the
Pokhara. As per the
statistical data, this season
the hotels of the Pokhara
are filled with the domestic
tourist. In the Dashain
festival, the large number
of people which is
gathered in the domestic
tourist as they are
increasing from the day
11th (Bhandari, 2018).

Neapalian who used to
come to visit the Pokhara
so that they visit the
Pokhara and meet their
relatives. As there are
many crowds at the
Kathmandu so people
come to Pokhara with their
family to spend their
holiday at the valleys. As
there is a bad road at the
travel site of the
Sauraha so tourist travel by
heading to Pokhara. The
domestic tourist is also
increased as many people
come to Kathmandu to
travel so they also head
with the route to Pokhara.
Characteristics of
accommodation
There are many resorts and hotels are
available at Pokhara which are very
reasonable at the rate and they also provide
certain facilities to the tourist. The famous
hotels at Pokhara are Hotel Middle Path and
Spa, Hotel Fewa Dream, Hotel Lake Shore,
etc. Many tourists booked Hotel Middle path
and Spa as it provides breakfast to their
customers and gives them the huge class
facility. They also provide the facility of the
pool, free parking, free Wifi, etc. (Ozturk,
2016). These hotels provide continuous
services to the tourist and also give guidance
to people regarding the places of the
Pokhara. The holiday packages of Pokhara
provide the accommodation of the free guide
and also give the car on rent so that the
tourist can roam at the local places of
Pokhara. There is the facility of the campsite
around the valleys and rivers which also
attract the tourist.

There is a great economic impact of tourism
on the GDP rate. The rate of GDP has
increased from the previous years as a
number of tourists also increased every year.
The sakes, jobs, profits, tax revenues and the
income are generated through tourism. The
primary and secondary tourism both are get
affected such as transportation, lodging,
retail trade, etc. are getting affected due to
primary tourism. The GDP rate of 6.2%
through tourism in Pokhara which plays a
vital role in increasing the revenues, service
management and many other services. Many
employment is also provided to the local
resident of the Pokhara which improves their
living conditions (Nowak and Dahal, 2016).

There are many attracting
points for the tourist to
visit the Pokhara such as
Fewa Lake which is at the
peak of the Annapurna
range which is the most
stunning attraction point
for the tourist. Tourist can
do mountain biking at
Pokhara and the prices are
also very reasonable. The
customers like adventures
so they can do Zip Flying,
Ultralight flight, Bunjee
Jumping, Paragliding,
River Rafting, etc. People
also visit the Tibetan
Refugee Camp where the
people enhance the beauty
and adorned prayer flags.

There is also one of the
famous temples of Tal
Varahi of the goddess
Durga so many Hindus
come to visit that in
Pokhara. There was the
Rupa Tal Lake where the
freshwater is there and it is
the glorious lake to visit.
There are also many other
attracting points such as
Begnas, Tal Lake,
Sarangkot, Shanti Stupa,
Phewa Lake, and the
international mountain
museum.

Conclusion
From the above report, it is concluded that
Pokara is the beautiful destination to visit as
there are several attracting points. Tourist
came there for the camp trekking at the
Annapurna base. There are many
international and domestic tourists who
come every year to visit Pokhara. The
tourism rate of Pokhara is also generating a
good GDP rate to the country. There are
many accommodation facilities are also
provided in Pokhara which attract the tourist
such as free guide and also give the car on
rent. So Pokhara is the city of the Phewa
Lake which is known for the Himalayas and
Islands.
