MANAGEMENT 1
1) A mission statement is an abstraction defines where the organisation is going now,
typically, describing the purpose, why this enterprise exists and something to be
accomplished (Rajasekar 135). Creating mission statement takes time, as company is
required to include three main components in the mission statement. It includes
mission or vision of the company, core values shaping the behaviour and acts of the
employee and statement of goals and objectives. The company or management is
required to focus on all these elements in order to craft effective mission statement.
One of the mission statement that is linked to my favourite business is stated below –
McDonald's brand mission statement – “To be our customers' favourite place and way
to eat and drink”. “Our worldwide operations are aligned around a global strategy
called the Plan to Win, which centre on exceptional customer experience--People,
Products, Place, Price and Promotion."
Yes, I think that the mission statement is overrated as that manages to both hokey and
vague at the same time.
2) The qualities that I will like in a leader includes –
He is a visionary leader having a clear and exciting idea where he is heading
and what needs to be achieved in extent with strategic planning.
One of the significant quality of the leader is courage and it means that a
leader is always ready to take risks while attaining the respective goals that are
having no assurance of success. As there is no certainty in business or life and
every step you make includes some kind of risks (Salfi, Hussain and
Nasarullah 177).
The leader is following the path of integrity, as truthfulness is the base
significant for success of any business.
Great leaders take strong decisions but also humble and this shows their
humility. They are willing to admit that they are not having answers to all
questions.
Cooperation is another significant quality that a leader must possess. It helps
in the smooth functioning of the enterprise.
The qualities that I do not like in one include lack of flexibility and enthusiasm, no integrity,
too self-centered, not forward thinking and do not show trust towards team members.
