Introduction The main objective of this assignment is to give more stress on the different operation management of the organisations. Additionally, for this study, there has been a selection of the Tesco and this is one of the largest retail organisations in the UK. additionally, the first section discloses that there are different issues that are being faced by the managers for commencing their business. Moreover, there has been a discussion of the different theories and models of the leadership. Additionally, in the last section, there has been a brief elaboration of the different strategies that are being taken by; leaders to manage their teams effectively. Additionally, If they are managing the team in a better manner then the employees will achieve the organizational goals. Overview of the organisation This organisation is the considered as one of the largest retail sectors in the UK. additionally, this organization has been established in 1919 and from that time onwards they are serving the customers. The main aim of the organisation is to serve the customers and while serving the customers they are earning a lot of profits. Additionally, organization have earned a revenue of $54.44 million in 2016 and they have targeted they are going to increase their profit margins 54% more in 2018-19 and they will be able to succeed in their operations as they are serving the customers in an innovative manner(www.tesco.com, 2017). Additionally, this has increased the customer's loyalty and confidence on the brand and this has made the customers loyal. Moreover, they are also planning that they are going to open their retail outlets in the different selected international markets. If they are doing this then they will be able to earn a large range of profit from those markets and this will also increase the BOP of the nation. 3
LO1 P1 Defining leadership role and the function of the managers Roles of the leaders Must act in a friendly manner Slack, (2015, p.44) opined that the leaders must behave friendly with the team members. If they are behaving in a friendly manner then, in that case, the employees will also feel free to communicate with the leaders. Additionally, the messages cannot be communicated in an effective manner and this can lead to different problems in the organization. Building of cooperation and trust Additionally, the leader must create a trust and confidence among the employees. Additionally, this is the main aspects on which the success and the failure of the organisation depends. If there is a lack of trust among different employees then they will not be able to perform in a better manner. When any programmers or meetings are being conducted in organisations then human resource team gives the responsibilities of the different leaders to play an active role. This issues can be pointed when they will listen actively to the employees. When the employee's problems are being heard then they will feel that they are not being neglected by the organisation and this will also help in retaining large employees. Additionally, these styles are being discussed here Great man theory Additionally, this sheds light on the fact that the leaders are born and the best leaders are having thebetterleadershipstylesandthesestylesarebeinginculcatedfromtheirchildhood. Additionally,this theory also reveals that the leaders are having responsibility creativity and many other qualities and with this qualities, they are doing their jobs. Behavioral theories This theory propounds that leaders have to behave properly in different situations and based on the different situations they have to react and take better judgments.
