Introduction
Management and operation refers to the process of controlling and dealing the people of an
organization (Choi. And et.al 2018). The main objective of management and operation is to
maintain employees and aware them about their individual goal and objective. This report
focuses on ASOS plc. ASOS plc is a British online fashion and cosmetic retailer. This company
is present most of the countries of the world and it serves over 850 brands in the category of
clothing and accessories. This report describes the role of a leader and function of a manager in
the organization. Apart from these different key approaches of Operation Management which is
being used in any organization is mentioned in this report. Besides this, value and importance of
operation management is defined in this report. Factors which impacts the operation
management in ASOS plc is also mentioned in this report.
P1 role of a leader and function of a manager
Leader plays a critical role in the organization. Leader guides the subordinates and workforce to
accomplish the goal and objective of the organization. The major role of leader is to motivate
employees towards their goal and assist them to attain the objective of ASOS PLC. Apart from
this leader set the mission and vision of the organization and help the employee to follow such
vision. Besides this leader encourage the employees to enhance their skills and efficiency so that
they can complete any task in given time frame.
Manager
The main function of manager in the company is to make plans, organized them, and co-ordinate
with the employees. Manager is responsible for providing guidance to the team so that they can
easily complete any target and help the organization to achieve its pre-determined goal. The
prime function of manager in ASOS plc is to make plans and strategies and also manger is liable
for implementing such strategies in the organization. In ASOS plc there is different managers’
work on different positions so that employees do not have to face any kind of issues and they can
perform their work effectively. Manager checks the performance of employees and encourage
them to improve their performance more. So the manager of ASOS plc forms the plants and
